NFC, MACC and the cow in the condominium — The Malaysian Insider

DEC 31 — Datuk Shamsubaharin Ismail was charged in the Sessions Court yesterday with cheating National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) chairman Datuk Mohamad Salleh Ismail out of RM1.76 million in consultation fees for fraudulent advisory services.

Earlier, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the police had said one man was being detained in connection with the NFC probe. Now, Malaysians have a man being prosecuted for cheating the NFC.

What about the NFC "mess" as described in the Auditor-General's Report 2011?

Will any heads roll for RM250 million in public funds being spent on condominiums and a luxury car rather than a cattle farm meant to reduce our food import bill? Are we to be satisfied with a side show? Is the civil service in step with Datuk Seri Najib Razak's aim to stamp out corruption?

Activist and social worker Tan Sri Robert Phang raised the matter today when he spoke about the cases involving Women, Community and Family Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, whose husband is NFC's Salleh, and Deputy Finance Minister Senator Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussein, who admitted he received cash into his private accounts but justified it as for political donations towards social programmes.

"In the case of Datuk Seri Shahrizat, the evidence is already in the public domain of the misappropriation of the NFC funds granted for the national cattle project instead being used to purchase luxurious condominiums, super cars and fantastic salaries for Shahrizat's husband and children.

"The initial statement by the MACC that they only investigate corruption cases and referred the matter to the police is seen as a feeble attempt to pass the bucket. That was the same thing that happened in Khir Toyo's case until I pursued it that led to Khir Toyo being charged," said Phang.

He also pointed out that Awang Adek's open admission of having received such monies to fund his own "social" programmes actually constituted political gratification.

"I invite the MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Abu Kasssim, to deliver to both Shahrizat and Awang Adek the lectures that he had delivered to me when I was on the MACC Advisory Panel about the meaning of gratification," he said.

Phang said further: "It is abundantly clear that the actions of Shahrizat and Anwang Adek are not defensible. The MACC does itself discredit if it continuously refuses to act with the same speed and efficiency when it involves members of the ruling party.

"The rakyat is tired of excuses. In the interest of the BN government, Shahrizat and Awang Adek should resign and offer themselves for investigation by MACC and other authorities. By resigning, only then can investigations against them be done without the undue influence which cannot be the case if they remain in the Cabinet," he added.

Phang is saying what a lot of Malaysians have privately thought or shared with their friends. No one will be content with Shamsubaharin being the only person charged with an offence that right now does not have any connection with what the Auditor-General has revealed.

Is Putrajaya content with just giving lip-service? It has to walk the talk. Otherwise, the voters will ask BN to take a hike. The ball is in the MACC's or police's court to take action against those involved in criminal breach of trust in the NFC scandal. Take action. Don't obsfuscate. Now.

Happy New Year (a poem)

by Allan CF Goh

Farewell to Two-O-One-One;
Let us count our blessings and wants,
As we sing the "Old Lang Syne",
To this full year's departing sign.
Firstly, thanks to have survived;
Our future needs to be revived.
We have maintained our good health,
And have not squandered all our wealth.
We still have our wits around;
Our family safely surround;
Our blessed friends remain good friends,
Despite any contrary trends.

Welcome to Two-O-One-Two!
May it bring you good tidings, too.
Let last year's unpleasantness
Be replaced with joyful goodness.
The birth of this brand new year,
Heralds the coming of things dear
To you and your family,
Living in perfect harmony!
May your wishes come to past,
To bless your days with this year's pass.
My humble prayer, this is:
May it happen with actual ease!

Datuk charge is only a 'diversion' from NFC scandal...

The cheating charge against Datuk Shamsubahrin Ismail is an attempt to divert attention away from the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal, Pakatan Rakyat leaders claimed today.

The opposition pact leaders added that allegations of misappropriating public funds linked to the national cattle farming project remain unanswered.

The case has been linked to minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's family. Her husband, Datuk Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail, is the NFC chairman and chief executive while their children help run the business.

Shamsubahrin, 45, was charged at the Sessions Court yesterday with cheating Mohamad Sallehout of RM1.76 million in consultation fees by offering the latter fraudulent advisory services.

"The charge brought against Shamsubahrin Ismail shocks the nation and will go down in Malaysian history as the most ridiculous diversion ever attempted.

"The NFC scandal has reached the temperature that the public demands immediate action to recover all the public money spent and bring those responsible for the misappropriation to be accountable," PKR chief strategist Rafizi Ramli(left) told The Malaysian Insider.

He pointed out that the evidence disclosed to the pub! lic so f ar had been "compelling" and and that it has not been denied "even once" by the NFC, Shahrizat, or any other Umno leader from the ruling coalition.

"That Umno leadership thinks they can make Malaysians believe that the NFC leadership is a victim of a fraud perpetrated by Shamsubaharin, just proves that Umno has lost the plot.

"By the strength of this evidence alone, in other countries with a functioning rule of law (this) would be sufficient to bring Datuk Seri Shahrizat and her family to justice," added the PKR leader.

Rafizi said that PKR would pursue the issue and make sure that the people responsible for approving the project and soft loans are brought to justice.

"PKR will make new revelation next week on NFC - if Umno refuses the rule of law to judge those responsible, then let the court of public opinion judges Umno and its leadership for its failure to act on NFC."

DAP central executive committee (CEC) member Liew Chin Tong said that the charge against Shamsubahrin did not provide any explanation to how federal funds for a cattle project were used to purchase luxury condominiums.

"By charging him it does not mean the original case has gone away.

"Morally, politically something has to be done. Allegations on abuse of funds have to be answered," he told The Malaysian Insider.

The Bukit Bendera MP said that the government should make public the papers and documents relating to NFCorp's cattle project, and that comp! lete tra nsparency was the way to solve the debacle.

Police are investigating NFCorp for alleged criminal breach of trust, following accusations by PKR that the company had misused millions in federal funds meant for a cattle feedlot scheme.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) announced last week it would investigate claims that NFCorp had misappropriated government funds, despite previously saying it would not probe the matter.

The MACC later seized a computer CPU and several documents during a raid on NFCorp's headquarters in Solaris Mont Kiara.

PKR first latched onto the issue after the RM250 million publicly-funded cattle project — run by Mohamad Salleh, husband to federal minister Shahrizat - made it into the pages of this year's Auditor-General's Report for failing to meet production targets. The opposition party has since made several revelations relating to the scandal, including NFCorp's purchase of two multi-million ringgit condominium units in Bangsar and alleged use of project funds to Shahrizat and her family's personal expenses and trips abroad.

It also claimed there was a transfer of resources to unrelated companies in Singapore, as well as the purchase a Mercedes-Benz CLS350 for RM534,622 and two plots of land in Putrajaya's Precinct 10 for RM3,363,507.

The latest disclosure by P! KR, made last Tuesday, further alleged that some RM10 million had been diverted towards the purchase of a luxury condominium unit in Singapore for Shahrizat's family.

Shahrizat tried deflecting attention by stating she's "only the wife" of the national cattle farming project's chairman and had nothing to do with the NFC.

The senator has faced calls to quit as minister from within Umno, including from influential former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

What I dont understand, why pay RM1.75 million to this 'Datuk' who runs a limousine business and yet seek his consultation on cattle farming?

cheers.

Governance and transparency in Selangor

  • The BN that we know today is far from perfect. They made so made blunders and also schemed the nation coffers. PR has been capitalizing on this issue. They had been attacking BN from this angle before GE12 and after they formed the government in several states. From my observation and reading, Penang under LGE excel is many aspect. I am not sure about the situation in Kedah and Kelantan. I am not worried about Kelantan. The people there know what they want and they are getting just that and I believe the Kelantan government is honest and decent. I am not so sure about Selangor. In Selangor, the driver seat is run by PKR and majority of PKR members has the same UMNO DNA. Unfortunately many people fail to see it.
  • In Selangor, the PR government set up a state GLC that is known as the Office of State Economic Advisor (OSEA). The CEO is RR. Apart from Anwar, I don't know if anyone else is appointed as the advisor. It was reported that Anwar gets RM1 for the appointment but no one has disclosed how much money has Anwar spend on travel and lodging expenses. There are also questions on the need to have a CEO and several office staff to manage one Advisor. Many do not believe that RR and his colleagues get RM1 salary per person. The question that one should ask is what are the contributions of the OSEA to SSG? Has they developed a short; medium and long term plan for Selangor? What are these plans, if there is any? Rumors has it that RR is hardly ever in the office.  If you follow his travel pattern in the last few months, one can make the necessary deduction on the contribution to SS Economy.
  • There is a strong rumor that the office was set up to support the key personnel expenses in their effort of expounding their political ideology. The supporters of PR demand a transparent government. Therefore it is important that they question on how much the state funds has been used at OSEA. They must also demand the quantitative direct generations of economic spinoff that is attributable by OSEA. The state must explain in detail the activities of OSEA to clear all doubts. It would not be right for PR supporters not demanding the same level of transparency and governance from SSG when PR themselves demand the same from BN. If none is forthcoming, after the FOI bill has been passed for the second reading, I might just pay RM10 application fee and demand the details of the expenses of OSEA. Is it right for them to spend money in such a manner when they don't spend money to give a decent maintenance on state and LA infrastructure?

José Argüelles ~ Visionary of the Circumpolar Rainbow Bridge

We, the Elders of the Supreme Star Council of the Federation of Galactic Federations, communicate to you through channels of multidimensional paranormality. That is, we speak through various channels spanning numerous dimensions in a manner that to you can only be paranormal – beyond the senses. This means that through a specially selected medium we can communicate in such a way that the medium will make as universally available as possible what we are communicating.

This communication is called the Gospel of 2012. It is a pure expression of the sentiments of the Elders of the Supreme Star Council of the Federation of Galactic Federations in their desire to assist in the attainment of universal consciousness upon your line of force.

When we speak of 2012, we are speaking of an event-point located within the parameters of a multidimensional reality. With your telescopes and technology you have attempted to make a map of what you call the universe. But this is only the physical universe, it is but a thin sliver or layer of the Universal Reality and it would be a naïve mistake to think it was the whole of it.

In actuality the universal reality is an entity of multidimensional grandeur. Most of the dimensions are supersensible, non-physical and exist as layers of lines of force of consciousness in a hierarchical construction that is entirely systematic.

Among the middling dimensions of this Great Universal Reality, are the ones you refer to as time and space. Time and space are actually an integration of dimensions extrapolated from the universes of number and consciousness.

All that is measurable – such as all that you can name and define in your physical line of force universe – co-exist in the universe of number. This universe of number provides all phenomena with qualities: such as weight, height, volume, depth, and duration.

Duration is a measure proportionate to a cyclic eventuality, the definition given by the dimension of time. As a convergence of dimensions, timespace actually constitutes a cube of singular order, such that any point in the physical universe is the center point of that cube equidistant to it six sides and eight vertices or corners.

No matter where you are, your perceptions will define a world of up and down, right and left and front and back. These are the six sides of the timespace cube. Because you can know this, this timespace also converges with the dimension of consciousness, such that we may define Reality as a multidimensionally conscious timespace cube. It is the fourth dimension that gives the third-dimensional universe its cubic order.

The fourth dimension is the universal field of paranormality that encloses the third-dimensional reality or physical universe.

The fourth dimension can only be known or experienced through various states of consciousness. Where space perceptions reach their limit, the mental time perceptions expand into the invisible reaches of the fourth-dimensional cube. The fourth-dimensional time cube encloses perfectly the sphere of third-dimension space perceptions.

In the multidimensional perspective, all events are event point convergences of timespace and consciousness. Significant event points are the convergences of timespace and consciousness coinciding with measures of cyclic duration.

In the timespace cube a measure of cyclic duration defines the parameters for the unfolding evolvement of different stages of consciousness.

The minimum duration of such a cyclic unfolding is the fractal time measure of 26,000 years.

2012 is a timespace event point where one cyclic measure of consciousness completes its duration of 26,000 years and commences its next such cycle. These cycles are known as "aeons of consciousness."

The World of Free Energy

In the late 1880's, trade journals in the electrical sciences were predicting free electricity and free energy in the near future. Incredible discoveries about the nature of electricity were becoming common place. Nikola Tesla was demonstrating "wireless lighting" and other wonders associated with high frequency currents. There was an excitement about the future like never before.

Within 20 years, there would be automobiles, airplanes, movies, recorded music, telephones, radio, and practical cameras. The Victorian Age was giving way to something totally new. For the first time in history, common people were encouraged to envision a utopian future filled with abundant modern transportation and communication, as well as jobs, housing and food for everyone. Disease would be conquered, and so would poverty. Life was getting better, and this time, everyone was going to get a piece of the pie. So, what happened? In the midst of this technological explosion, where did the energy breakthroughs go? Was all! of this excitement about free energy, which happened just before the beginning of the last century, just wishful thinking that "real science" eventually disproved?

Current State of Technology

Actually, the answer to that question is no. In fact, the opposite is true. Spectacular energy technologies were developed right along with the other breakthroughs. Since that time, multiple methods for producing vast amounts of energy at extremely low cost have been developed. None of these technologies have made it to the consumer market as an article of commerce, however. Exactly why this is true will be discussed shortly.

But first, I would like to describe to you a short list of free energy technologies that I am currently aware of, and that are proven beyond all reasonable doubt. The common feature connecting all of these discoveries, is that they use a small amount of one form of energy to control or release a large amount of a different kind of energy. Many of them tap the underlying Æther field in some way; a source of energy conveniently ignored by modern science.

1) Radiant Energy. Nikola Tesla's magnifying transmitter, T. Henry Moray's radiant energy device, Edwin Gray's EMA motor, and Paul Baumann's Testatika machine all run on radiant energy. This natural energy form can be gathered directly from the environment (mistakenly called "static" electricity) or extracted from ordinary electricity by the method called fractionation. Radiant energy can perform the same wonders as ordinary electricity, at less than 1% of the cost. It does not behave exactly like electricity, however, which has contributed to the scientific community's misunderstanding of it. The Methernitha Community in Switzerland currently has 5 or 6 working models of fuelless, self-running devices that tap this energy.

2) Permanent Magnets. Dr. Robert Adams (NZ) has developed astounding designs of electric motors, generators and heaters that run on permanent magnets. One such device draws 100 watts of electricity from the source, generates 100 watts to recharge the source, and produces over 140 BTU's of heat in two minutes! Dr. Tom Bearden (USA) has two working models of a permanent magnet powered electrical transformer. It uses a 6-watt electrical input to control the path of a magnetic field coming out of a permanent magnet. By channeling the magnetic field, first to one output coil and then a second output coil, and by doing this repeatedly and rapidly in a "ping-pong" fashion, the device can produce a 96-watt electrical output with no moving parts. Bearden calls his device a Motionless Electromagnetic Generator, or MEG. Jean-Louis Naudin has duplicated Bearden's device in France. The principles for this type of device were first disclosed by Frank Richardson (USA) in 1978. Troy Reed (USA) has working models of a special magnetized fan that heats up as it spins. It takes exactly the same amount of energy to spin the fan whether it is generating heat or not. Beyond these developments, multiple inventors have identified working mechanisms that produce motor torque from permanent magnets alone.

3) Mechanical Heaters. There are two classes of machines that transform a small amount of mechanical energy into a large amount of heat. The best of these purely mechanical designs are the rotating cylinder systems designed by Frenette (USA) and Perkins (USA). In these machines, one cylinder is rotated within another cylinder with about an eighth of an inch of clearance between them. The space between the cylinders is filled with a liquid such as water or oil, and it is this "working fluid" that heats up as the inner cylinder spins. Another method uses magnets mounted on a wheel to produce large eddy currents in a plate of aluminum, causing the aluminum to heat up rapidly. These magnetic heaters have been demonstrated by Muller (Canada), Adams (NZ) and Reed (USA). All of these systems can produce ten times more heat than standard methods using the same energy input.

4) Super-Efficient Electrolysis. Water can be broken into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. Standard chemistry books claim that this process requires more energy than can be recovered when the gases are recombined. This is true only under the worst case scenario. When water is hit with its own molecular resonant frequency, using a system developed by Stan Meyers (USA) and again recently by Xogen Power, Inc., it collapses into hydrogen and oxygen gas with very little electrical input. Also, using different electrolytes (additives that make the water conduct electricity better) ch! anges th e efficiency of the process dramatically. It is also known that certain geometric structures and surface textures work better than others do. The implication is that unlimited amounts of hydrogen fuel can be made to drive engines (like in your car) for the cost of water. Even more amazing is the fact that a special metal alloy was patented by Freedman (USA) in 1957 that spontaneously breaks water into hydrogen and oxygen with no outside electrical input and without causing any chemical changes in the metal itself. This means that this special metal alloy can make hydrogen from water for free, forever.

5) Implosion/Vortex. All major industrial engines use the release of heat to cause expansion and pressure to produce work, like in your car engine. Nature uses the opposite process of cooling to cause suction and vacuum to produce work, like in a tornado. Viktor Schauberger (Austria) was the first to build working models of implosion engines in the 1930's and 1940's. Since that time, Callum Coats has published extensively on Schauberger's work in his book Living Energies and subsequently, a number of researchers have built working models of implosion turbine engines. These are fuelless engines that produce mechanical work from energy accessed from a vacuum. There are also much simpler designs that use vortex motions to tap a combination of gravity and centrifugal force to produce a continuous motion in fluids.

6) Cold Fusion. In March 1989, two chemists from the University of Utah (USA) announced that they had produced atomic fusion reactions in a simple tabletop device. The claims were "debunked" within six months and the public lost interest. Nevertheless, cold fusion is very real. Not only has excess heat production been repeatedly documented, but also low energy atomic element transmutation has been catalogued, involving dozens of different reactions! This technology definitely can produce low cost energy and scores of other important industrial processes.

7) Solar Assisted Heat Pumps. The refrigerator in your kitchen is the only free energy machine you currently own. It's an electrically operated heat pump. It uses one amount of energy (electricity) to move three amounts of energy (heat). This gives it a co-efficient of performance (COP) of about 3. Your refrigerator uses one amount of electricity to pump three amounts of heat from the inside of the refrigerator to the outside of the refrigerator. This is its typical use, but it is the worst possible way to use the technology. Here's why. A hea! t pump p umps heat from the source of heat to the "sink" or place that absorbs the heat. The source of heat should obviously be hot and the sink for heat should obviously be cold for this process to work the best. In your refrigerator, it's exactly the opposite. The source of heat is inside the box, which is cold, and the sink for heat is the room temperature air of your kitchen, which is warmer than the source. This is why the COP remains low for your kitchen refrigerator. But this is not true for all heat pumps. COP's of 8 to 10 are easily attained with solar assisted heat pumps. In such a device, a heat pump draws heat from a solar collector and dumps the heat into a large underground absorber, which remains at 55° F, and mechanical energy is extracted in the transfer. This process is equivalent to a steam engine that extracts mechanical energy between the boiler and the condenser, except that it uses a fluid that boils at a much lower temperature than water. One such system that was tested in the 1970's produced 350 hp, measured on a Dynamometer, in a specially designed engine from just 100-sq. ft. of solar collector. (This is not the system promoted by Dennis Lee.) The amount of energy it took to run the compressor (input) was less than 20 hp, so this system produced more than 17 times more energy than it took to keep it going! It could power a small neighborhood from the roof of a hot tub gazebo, using exactly the same technology that keeps the food cold in your kitchen. Currently, there is an industrial scale heat pump system just north of Kona, Hawaii that generates electricity from temperature differences in ocean water.

There are dozens of other systems that I have not mentioned, many of them are as viable and well tested as the ones I have just recounted. But this short list is sufficient to make my point: free energy technology is here, now. It offers the world pollution-free, energy abundance for everyone, everywhere.

It is now possible to stop the production of greenhouse gases and shut down all of the nuclear power plants. We can now desalinate unlimited amounts of seawater at an affordable price, and bring adequate fresh water to even the most remote habitats. Transportation costs and the production costs for just about everything can drop dramatically. Food can even be grown in heated greenhouses in the winter, anywhere. All of these wonderful benefits that can make life on this planet so much easier and better for everyone have been postponed for decades. Why? Whose purposes are served by this postponement?

Four Invisible Forces

There are four gigantic forces that have worked together to create this situation. To say that there is and has been a conspiracy to suppress this technology only leads to a superficial understanding of the world, and it places the blame for this completely outside of ourselves. Our willingness to remain ignorant and actionless in the face of this situation has always been interpreted by two of these forces as implied consent. So, besides a non-demanding public, what are the other forces that are impeding the availability of free energy technology?

In the United States, and in most other countries around the world, there is a money monopoly in place. I am free to earn as much money as I want, but I will only be paid in Federal Reserve Notes. There is nothing I can do to be paid in Gold Certificates, or some other form of money. This money monopoly is solely in the hands of a small number of private stock banks, and these banks are owned by the wealthiest families in the world. Their pla! n is to eventually control 100% of all of the capital resources of the world, and thereby control everyone's life through the availability (or non-availability) of all goods and services.

An independent source of wealth (free energy device) in the hands of each and every person in the world, ruins the plans of the wealthiest families for world domination, permanently. Why this is true is easy to see. Currently, a nation's economy can be either slowed down or sped up by the raising or lowering of interest rates. But if an independent source of capital (energy) were present in the economy, and any business or person could raise more capital without borrowing it from a bank, this centralized throttling action on interest rates would simply not have the same effect.

Free energy technology changes the value of money. The wealthiest families and the issuers of credit do not want any competition. It's that simple. They want to maintain their current monopoly control of the money supply. For them, free energy technolo! gy is no t just something to suppress, it must be permanently forbidden!

So, the wealthiest families and their central banking institutions are the first force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology. Their motivations are the imagined divine right to rule, greed, and their insatiable need to control almost everything except themselves. The weapons they have used to enforce this postponement include intimidation, "expert" debunkers, buying and shelving of technology, murder and attempted murder of the inventors, character assassination, arson, and a wide variety of financial incentives and disincentives to manipulate possible supporters. They have also promoted the general acceptance of a scientific theory that states that free energy is impossible (laws of thermodynamics).

The second force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology is national governments. The problem here is not so much related to competition in the printing of currency, but in the ma! intenanc e of national security. The fact is, the world out there is a jungle, and humans can be counted upon to be very cruel, dishonest, and sneaky. It is government's job to provide for the common defense. For this, police powers are delegated by the executive branch of government to enforce "the rule of law." Most of us who consent to the rule of law do so because we believe it is the right thing to do, for our own benefit. There are always a few individuals, however, that believe that their own benefit is best served by behavior that does not voluntarily conform to the generally agreed upon social order. These people choose to operate outside of the rule of law and are considered outlaws, criminals, subversives, traitors, revolutionaries, or terrorists.

Most national governments have discovered, by trial and error, that the only foreign policy that really works, over time, is a policy called "tit for tat." What this means to you and me is, that governments treat each other the way they are being treated. There is a constant jockeying for position and influence in world affairs, and the strongest party wins! In economics, it's the Golden Rule, which states: "The one with the gold makes the rules."

So it is with politics also, but its appearance is more Darwinian. It's simply survival of the fittest. In politics, however, the fittest has come to mean the strongest party who is also willing to fight the dirtiest. Absolutely every means available is used to maintain an advantage over the adversary, and everyone else is the adversary regardless of whether they are considered friend or foe. This includes outrageous psychological posturing, lying, cheating, spying, stealing, assassination of world leaders, proxy wars, alliances and shifting alliances, treaties, foreign aid, and the presence of military forces wherever possible.

Like it or not, this is the psychological and actual arena national governments operate in. No national government will do anything that simply gives an adversary an advantage for free. It's national suicide. An activity by any individual, inside or outside the country, that is interpreted as giving an adversary an edge or advantage will be deemed a threat to "national security."

Free energy technology is a national government's worst nightmare! Openly acknowledged, free energy technology sparks an unlimited arms race by all governments in a final attempt to gain absolute advantage and domination. Think about it. Do you think Japan will not feel intimidated if China gets free energy? Do you think Israel will sit by quietly as Iraq acquires free energy? Do you think India will allow Pakistan to develop free energy? Do you think the USA would not try to stop Osama bin Laden from getting free energy?

Unlimited energy available to the current state of affairs on this planet leads to an inevitable reshuffling of the balance of power. This could become an all-out war to prevent "the other" from having the advantage of unlimited wealth and power. Everybody will want it, and at the same time, want to prevent everyone else from getting it.

So, national governments are the second force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology. Their motivations are "self-preservation." This self-preservation operates on three levels. First, by not giving undue advantage to an external enemy. Second, by preventing individualized action capable of effectively challenging official police powers (anarchy) within the country. And third, by preserving income streams derived from taxing energy sources currently in use. Their weapons include the preventing of the issuance of patents based on national security grounds, the legal and illegal harassment of inventors with criminal charges, tax audits, threats, phone taps, arrest, arson, theft of property during shipment, and a host of other intimidations which make the business of building and marketing a free energy machine practically impossible.

The third force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology consists of the group of deluded inventors and out right charlatans and con men. On the periphery of the extraordinary scientific breakthroughs that constitute the real free energy technologies, lies a shadow world of unexplained anomalies, marginal inventions and unscrupulous promoters. The first two forces have constantly used the media to promote the worst examples of this group, to distract the public's attention and to discredit the real breakthroughs by associating them with the obviou! s frauds .

Over the last hundred years, dozens of stories have surfaced about unusual inventions. Some of these ideas have so captivated the public's imagination that a mythology about these systems continues to this day. Names like Keely, Hubbard, Coler, and Henderschott immediately come to mind. There may be real technologies behind these names, but there simply isn't enough technical data available in the public domain to make a determination. These names remain associated with a free energy mythology, however, and are sited by debunkers as examples of fraud.

The idea of free energy taps very deeply into the human subconscious mind. A few inventors with marginal technologies that demonstrate useful anomalies have mistakenly exaggerated the importance of their inventions. Some of these inventors also have mistakenly exaggerated the importance of themselves for having invented it. A combination of "gold fever" and/or a messiah complex appears, wholly distorting any future contribution they may make.

While the research thread they are following may hold great promise, these deluded inventors begin to trade enthusiasm for facts, and the value of the scientific work from that point on suffers greatly. There is a powerful, yet subtle seduction that can warp a personality if they believe that the world rests on their shoulders or that they are the world's savior. Strange things also happen to people when they think they are about to become extremely rich. It takes a tremendous spiritual discipline to remain objective and humble in the presence of a working free energy machine.

Many inventors' psyches become unstable just believing they have a free energy machine. As the quality of the science deteriorates, some inventors also develop a persecution complex that makes them very defensive and unapproachable. This process precludes them from ever really developing a free energy machine, and fuels the fraud mythologies tremendously.

Then there are the out right con men. In the last 15 years, there is one person in the USA who has raised the free energy con to a professional art. He has raised more than $ 100,000,000, has been barred from doing business in the state of Washington, has been jailed in California, and he's still at it. He always talks about a variation of one of the real free energy systems, sells people on the idea that they will get one of these systems soon, but ultimately sells them only promotional information which gives no real data about the energy system itself. He has mercilessly preyed upon the Christian community and the patriot community in the USA, and is still going strong.

This man's current scam involves signing up hundreds of thousands of people as locations where he will install a free energy machine. In exchange for letting him put the free energy generator in their home, they will get free electricity for life, and his company will sell the excess energy back to the local utility company. After becoming convinced that they will receive free electricity for life, with no out-front expenses, they gl! adly buy a video that helps draw their friends into the scam as well. Once you understand the power and motivations of the first two forces I have discussed, its obvious that this person's current business plan cannot be implemented. This one person has probably done more harm to the free energy movement in the USA than any other force, by destroying people's trust in the technology.

So, the third force postponing the public availability of free energy technology is delusion and dishonesty within the movement itself. The motivations are self-aggrandizement, greed, want of power over others, and a false sense of self-importance. The weapons used are lying, cheating, the "bait and switch" con, self-delusion and arrogance combined with lousy science.

The fourth force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology is all of the rest of us. It may be easy to see how narrow and selfish the motivations of the other forces are, but actually, these motivations are still very much alive in! each of us as well. Like the Wealthiest Families, don't we each secretly harbor illusions of false superiority, and the want to control others instead of ourselves? Also, wouldn't you "sell out" if the price were high enough, say, take a million dollars, cash, today? Or like the governments, don't we each want to ensure our own survival? If caught in the middle of a full, burning theater, do you panic and push all of the weaker people out of the way in a mad, scramble for the door? Or like the deluded inventor, don't we trade a comfortable illusion once in a while for an uncomfortable fact? And don't we like to think more of ourselves than others give us credit for? Or don't we still fear the unknown, even if it promises a great reward?

You see, really, all four forces are just different aspects of the same process, operating at different levels in the society. There is really only one force preventing the public availability of free energy technology, and that is the unspiritually motivated behavior of the humans. In the last analysis, free energy technology is an outward manifestation of divine abundance. It is the engine of the economy of an enlightened society, where people voluntarily behave in a respectful and civil manner toward each other, where each member of the society has everything they need, and does not covet what their neighbor has, where war and physical violence has become socially unacceptable behavior and people's differences are at least tolerated, if not en! joyed.

The appearance of free energy technology in the public domain is the dawning of a truly civilized age. It is an epochal event in human history. Nobody can take credit for it. Nobody can get rich on it. Nobody can rule the world with it. It is simply, a gift from God. It forces us all to take responsibility for our own actions and for our own self-disciplined self-restraint when needed. The world as it is currently ordered, cannot have free energy technology without being totally transformed by it into something else. This civilization has reached the pinnacle of its development, because it has birthed the seeds of its own transformation. Unspiritualized humans cannot be trusted with free energy. They will only do what they have always done, which is take merciless advantage of each other, or kill each other and themselves in the process.

If you go back and read Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged or the Club of Rome Report, it becomes obvious that the wealthiest families have understood this for decades. Their plan is to! live in the world of free energy, but permanently freeze the rest of us out. But this is not new. Royalty has always considered the general population (us) to be their subjects. What is new, is that you and I can communicate with each other now better than at anytime in the past. The Internet offers us, the fourth force, an opportunity to overcome the combined efforts of the other forces preventing free energy technology from spreading.

The Opportunity

What is starting to happen is that inventors are publishing their work, instead of patenting it and keeping it secret. More and more, people are giving away information on these technologies in books, videos and websites. While there is still a great deal of useless information about free energy on the Internet, the availability of good information is rising rapidly. Check out the list of websites and other resources at the end of this article.

It is imperative that you begin to gather all of the information you can on real free energy systems. The reason for this is simple. The first two forces will never allow an inventor or a company to build and sell a free energy machine to you! The only way you will ever get one is if you, or a friend, build it yourself. This is exactly what thousands of people are already quietly starting to do. You may feel wholly inadequate to the task, but start gathering information now. You may be just a link in the chain of events for the benefit of others. Focus on what you can do now, not on how much there still is to be done. Small, private research groups are working out the details as you read this. Many are committed to publishing their results on the Internet.

All of us constitute the fourth force. If we stand up and refuse to remain ignorant and actionless, we can change the course of history. It is the aggregate of our combined action that can make a difference. Only the mass action that represents our consensus can create the world we want. The other three forces will not help us put a fuelless power plant in our basements. They will not help us be f! ree from their manipulations. Nevertheless, free energy technology is here. It is real, and it will change everything about the way we live, work and relate to each other. In the last analysis, free energy technology obsoletes greed and the fear for survival. But like all exercises of spiritual faith, we must first manifest the generosity and trust in our own lives.

The source of free energy is inside of us. It is that excitement of expressing ourselves freely. It is our spiritually guided intuition expressing itself without distraction, intimidation or manipulation. It is our open-heartedness. Ideally, the free energy technologies underpin a just society where everyone has enough food, clothing, shelter, self-worth, and the leisure time to contemplate the higher spiritual meanings of life. Do we not owe it to each other to face down our fears and take action to create this future for our children's children?

Free energy technology is here. It has been here for decades. Communications technology and the Internet have ! torn the veil of secrecy off of this remarkable fact. People all over the world are starting to build free energy devices for their own use. The bankers and the governments do not want this to happen, but cannot stop it. There will be essentially no major media coverage of what is going on. Tremendous economic instabilities and wars will be used in the near future to distract people from joining the free energy movement.

Western society is in many ways spiraling down toward self-destruction due to the accumulated effects of long-term greed and corruption. The general availability of free energy technology cannot stop this trend. It can only reinforce it. If, however, you have a free energy device, you may be better positioned to support the political/social/economic transition that is underway. The question is, who will ultimately control the emerging world government-the first force or the fourth force?

The last great war is almost upon us. The seeds are planted. After this will come the beginning of a real civilization. S! ome of u s who refuse to fight will survive to see the dawn of the world of free energy. I challenge you to be among the ones who try.

Democracy is shining in the dark

Largely driven by ordinary citizens, often connected through the social media, Southeast Asia is experiencing important and substantive political change.

In this year of the Arab Spring, attention has centered on developments in the Middle East. With street protests and elections, amidst violence, there is no question that the region has experienced a profound political upheaval.

Yet, 2011 has been extremely significant in Southeast Asia as well. The ripples of change are here. Largely driven by ordinary citizens, often connected through the social media, Southeast Asia is experiencing important and substantive political change, with the balance clearly in favour of greater empowerment of citizens, human dignity and promise.

Let me begin with the one that Malaysians themselves know well – the increased political awakenings of citizens.

bersih 2 rally guy fawkes mask 090711It centers on July's Bersih 2.0 and more recently the demands for academic freedom by university graduates, but one can go back to the Sarawak state election in April to see a greater sense of political awareness and appreciation of the impact every individual can have on bringing about a better government.

Personally, I will never forget the energy at the political rallies in Miri, where young and old came out in the rain to listen and hope for a better future. It is important for all the political parties across the spectrum to remember that people stand in the rain not to support the parties, but the potential of better governance they represent. The trend now is moving outside of political parties towards civil society and individuals, taking the issues directly into the hands of ordinary people. This broadening of political participation is healthy, in that is allows for more diversity of views.

This political awakening is happening across Southeast Asia – in Singapore, where a record number of citizens attended political rallies and voted, in Thailand, where local communities banded together to address the challenges of the floods, and in Indonesia, where the anti-corruption drive and calls for good governance are being led through whistle blowing and robust online discussions.

Even when poor decisions are being made by leaders or politicians are providing bald-faced denials, the citizens are exposing these and fighting back.

Consider the saga of housewife Prita Mulyasari of Tangerang, Indonesia. When she complained about the hospital service and sent the email to 20 of her friends, the hospital sued her and she was fined. She fought back, winning an acquittal in civil court in 2009, and earning the support of thousands of Facebook fans.

This July Indonesia's Supreme Court overturned the decision saying that she was guilty of defamation and now the outrage has deepened. Her family is calling for a judicial review, with the support of an angry public frustrated with the inequalities in court decisions and corruption within the judiciary.

Fights like Prita's are never easy. Those who stand up to power often face alienation and threats, especially women. The rallying around what is right is increasingly common and gaining ground, as the public across Southeast Asia are speaking up.

Political openings in authoritarian outposts

There are now more places in the region where people are standing tall. This year will be remembered as that change occurred in the most unexpected places – the more authoritarian political systems.

In May, Singapore's general election became a watershed, exposing the frustrations with elitist governance in the island state. Singapore People's Party's (SPP) election campaign rally at Bishan Stadium 1This human wave calling for inclusion and fairness extended to the presidential polls in August, where the PAP's chosen candidate for president Tony Tan only squeaked through with less than 1% of the vote.

Months later, the system remains in shock, still assessing how to win back the support and at the same time operate in a new political environment where the public has a sense of its own power. Once the power of the people is let out of the bottle, it is very hard indeed to put it back into constraints.

The PAP is working hard to adjust in contrast to how Umno responded after 2008. Yet, one-party dominant political systems face real challenges incorporating new voices and embracing reform, especially when the resistance inside the system is entrenched.

Singapore's political evolution is important as it has served as a global model. It is especially important for Malaysia, given its historical links to the island republic.

In both countries, the tests for the future lie within the dominant parties and whether the leadership of both countries is genuinely willing to bring about reform, not just promises and deliver half-hearted and flawed measures. It is important to laud the efforts of reform, but carefully scrutinise the implementation.

Nowhere is the importance of scrutiny more relevant than in Burma. What a political year that country has experienced. Since the November 2010 election results were announced early this year, the country has undergone political liberalisation led by the new civilian leadership. This top-down transition is still in its early days, yet there are distinguishing groups of soft-liners and hardliners in the system.

Right now the soft-liners – those advocating for genuine inclusion of the opposition, pushing for economic reform and better governance – are leading the charge.burma aung san suu kyiToday one can find almost revolutionary changes on the ground with pictures of Aung San Sui Kyi on the streets of Rangoon, a much more open media and even a protest law that is more liberal than Malaysia's.

While many activists, especially ethnic minority leaders and what is known as Generation 88 leaders (those associated with the student movement opposing military rule in 1988) are still in jail, many others have been released and the 40 or so seats to be contested in by-elections in 2012 will include the National League for Democracy, bringing it into parliament.

Interestingly the country's legislature has become a place for substantive discussion of policy and problems, as all sides seem – at least for now – to be focused on bringing the country forward. The resistance is strong, and challenges, especially in the economic realm are high – yet here too, in one of the region's darkest democratic corners, there is light.

Increased contestation over basic freedoms

This year has taught us – from the Middle East to Southeast Asia – that political change is possible in the more authoritarian outposts.Yet, in the focus on the unexpected, we sometimes overlook the ordinary. There are two realms where serious contestation over basic rights is evolving with great intensity in Southeast Asia.

The first is in an issue many Malaysians know well – religious freedom. Despite the talk of 1Malaysia, the fact is that religious minorities in the country feel a deepening sense of anxiety. What is forgotten here is that many individuals in the religious majority feel a similar sense of concern.

The problem here – as it is elsewhere in the region – is multifaceted, from the over-politicisation of issues and a lack of trusted political leadership to deep-seated racism and more. What is important is to appreciate how much healthy dialogue now exists.

The media tends to focus on the problems, the bogus police reports against religious leaders for speaking frankly, rather than on the quiet sanity and respectful interactions that are growing.Between and among faiths there is considerable respectful discussion as the quiet majority embraces the ridiculousness of the Obedient Wives Club.

church christian in kuala lumpur 1Interfaith understanding is deepening, as with a more robust discussion within faiths on issues. This is part of the more open political space filled by ordinary citizens, engaged in discussions and genuinely motivated by our common humanity.

Religious freedom issues are also being contested and engaged elsewhere in Southeast Asia. This year saw a religious crackdown in the Hmong in Vietnam, further marginalisation of religious minorities and attacks on religious institutions in Indonesia and religious violence in Timor L'este between groups often through gangs.

Yet, simultaneously, for every crackdown or attack, there are thousands of discussions and shared knowledge as solidarity across the faiths remains the mode of the majority.

Minorities are facing another troubling issue, however. It involves land. There is a region-wide crisis evolving over land rights, from Cambodia and Vietnam to Timor and Burma.Land grabbing is occurring unchecked throughout the region, often with impunity and dire consequences for those lacking the political connections to hold onto their homes.

Consider the case of Boeung Kak Lake in central Phnom Penh where over 3,000 people were pushed aside for a "new development " despite having land titles. There has been an ongoing battle through the courts and on the streets to stop the evictions.

Residents won a court victory in August, recognising their titles, but the struggle continues. Many more cases of land grabbing are going unnoticed, as often those who are affected lack the resources to fight.

Now there is more international attention and support of this issue through civil society, as steps are being taken to strengthen laws and improve access to information. Protests against injustices such as these are having an impact, admittedly with high costs for those involved.

Inequality firmly on the agenda

This year more attention is placed on the concerns of the marginalised. The Occupy Wall Street movement has had an international dimension.

Whether it has been in the budget programmes or in the human rights reports on migrant labor, an appreciation of those outside, those left behind by development, is increasing permeating into the broader public psyche. Inequality has squarely been on the public agenda in 2011.

While the policy solutions and approaches have yet to fully evolve, getting to be part of the agenda is an important first step.Democratic openings require inclusion of all, especially those who have the least. You judge the vibrancy of a democratic system by looking at the conditions faced by those on the political periphery, not those in the center.

As we look toward the future, to a year that will indeed be historic in Malaysia given the upcoming 2012 polls and increased levels of political engagement, taking stock of the trends in 2011 allows us to move forward constructively.

This year has been a good one for democracy in the region, and the trends of empowerment point to future success, despite the obstacles. Let's celebrate the successes of 2011, especially acknowledging the bravery of individuals, and welcome hope for 2012.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012

‘Sue Melaka Zoo for animal abuse’

KUALA LUMPUR:  A UK-based NGO wants the Melaka Zoo management persecuted and their staff sent for training on animal welfare to the Singapore Zoo.

Nature Alert chief executive officer Sean Whyte said the Orang Utan was an acknowledged endangered species protected under Malaysian Law.

"The Melaka Zoo management must be prosecuted for this cruelty. It's no use the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) sitting in their cosy air-conditioned offices with their eyes wide shut.

"They are paid to enforce the law, but as we know, they only do so when stung into action by public criticism. What's the point of the new law if they won't enforce it?" asked  Whyte.

Whyte was responding to investigations by animal activist Shivan Lucian  from Friends of the Orang Utan.

According to Lucian the situation in Melaka Zoo had deteriorated since four months ago when he last visited the site.

Lucian said his most recent visit this month to the zoo almost left him in tears.

"I felt like crying when I saw these orangutans caged like this. I've asked myself, why is it my country allows such cruelty to continue?

"If anything, things have got worse at this zoo since our last report to Perhilitan.

"What we see here is cruelty, against our law and it must be punished," he said recounting his shock at seeing the eight orang utan held captive in tiny dirty cages where they could barely move.

Poor supervision

He said there was "not a single leaf" for enrichment of their environment.

"Malaysia's only great ape, a protected species deserving of an iconic status in Malaysia, are treated like rats," said Lucian.

Lucian said supervision of animals was also sorely lacking, as those Orangutans on display were being thrown junk food while security just looked and ignored.

He said the one male Orang Utan was clearly showing sign of distress.

"One huge Orangutan male who looked very strong but was obviously stressed and was showing signs of agression.

"When we neared, the Orangutan held on to the bars and was shaking it violently. It is scary, it tried to grab at us fiercely.

"These are the results of how the Melaka Zoo treated him. Soon, like humans, he would go crazy," said Lucian.

Reports ignored

Whyte said it was urgent that authorities act swiftly and resolve the desperate conditions imposed on the orangutans.

He asked how much worse should the situation regress at the Melaka Zoo before the government takes action against them.

"How long will it take? Days, weeks or more likely – never?" quippd Whyte.

He said Nature Alert had made several reports to Perhilitan against the Melaka Zoo.

"But all the reports have been ignored, " he said.

He said the Melaka Zoo had also been "sharply criticised by others" for the extremely cramped conditions in its quarantine area.

"Animals are brought into this centre from closed down zoos, never again to be seen.

"Where are these animals now? What happened to all those tigers from Saleng Zoo?" asked Whyte.

Six point demand

Whyte recalled that earlier this year, the Melaka Zoo was given four orangutans which were seized from the A'Famosa Resort.

The Orang Utans were very badly treated for 12 months at the resort but but things were no better in Melaka Zoo.

Nature Alert issued a six-point list asking the authorities to immediately:

1. Prosecute Melaka zoo authorities.

2. Return four Orangutans originally from A'Famosa to the Sarawak orangutan sanctuary, and not back to the resort.

3. The remaining Orangutans be given access to the outside area of the enclosure on a twice daily rotational basis

4. The adult male Orangutan which is likely incarcerated 24/7, must be also be given access in front

5. New enclosures and night shelters must be built

6. Management and staff of Malacca be sent to Singapore zoo for training.

No response

Meanwhile several attempts by FMT to contact Malacca Zoo director Ahmad Azhar Mohammed,  Perhilitan and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment officials received no responses.

A top officer in Perhilitan told FMT that the wildlife authority no longer has the authority to speak to the media.

"To be honest our public image has suffered tremendoesly lately, and the ministry has decided that all our communication with the public has to be filtered," said the official.

Since 2003, there had been at least seven cases of zoo mismanagement in the country, resulting in the seizure of animals from several zoos.

Melaka Zoo is not new to controversy with several reports in the past over animal abuse.

Just last Friday, Melaka Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam aknowledged the need for better enclosures.

He said the state government had so far received over 3,000 complaints, including e-mails from animal lovers overseas, that the orang utan enclosures were too small.

"We realise this and have decided that we need five more enclosures," he said.

One "chain-smoking" Orangutan, Shirley, also made international headlines in May after visitors who threw cigarrette butts abetted her habit. She was now being rehabilitated in Sarawak.
