Dulu Tulang Besi tak percaya, namun akhirnya terbukti kata-kata kenalan Tulang Besi tu.

Ladies & Gentlemen, we have safely landed

By Art Harun

Ding donga very good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, we have safely landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Welcome to Malaysia.

The local time is 5.35pm. The weather is slightly cloudy with the usual monsoon rain expected in about 30 minutes time and the current temperature is 34 degrees Celcius. For those who think that the rain in Malaysia is similar to the rain in Paris, London or New York, please note that our monsoon drains are 8 feet deep and 4 feet wide and run for hundreds of kilometres. They cost 30,000 Malaysian Ringgit per foot to build and 30 million Malaysian Ringgit to maintain per month. We take our rain very seriously, Ladies & Gentlemen. And you would be well advised that our rain is nothing, repeat, nothing compared to the rain in your country.

A bit about Malaysia for you. Malaysia is truly Asia. We have the Talibans in some states and government agencies. Please do not ever ever bring with you a Bible in Bahasa Melayu, the national language. Sorry, I have to be more specific. No Bible in Bahasa Melayu is allowed in Peninsula Malaysia. Eh, sorry, I have to be more particularly specific. No Bible is allowed in Bahasa Melayu in the Peninsula Malaysia other than the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, our capital and Putrajaya, our administrative capital. In the states of Sabah and Sarawak, Bible in Bahasa Melayu is kosher.

By the way, Bahasa Melayu is also known as Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Kebangsaan. As to why it has three names, lets not get into that or otherwise you all would never disembark this plane.

By the same token, please do not use the word Allah if you are not Muslims unless you are in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya or the states of Sabah or Sarawak. So Ladies and Gentlemen, beware of the state boundaries while in Malaysia. For example, if you are in Kuala Lumpur going towards PJ Hilton, do s! top at t he Kuala Lumpur/PJ boundary to throw away your Bible in Bahasa Melayu, if any. And stop using the word Allah too. As a rule of thumb, you would know when to do that when you exit a toll plaza, if you use a highway, that is.

So, as I was saying, we have the Talibans. Then we have the Bangladeshis, Pakistanis and various races from the Indian sub-continents. Venture along the Bukit Bintang areas at night and you will see many Chinese from China, Vietnamese, Myanmarese and Cambodians, all of them women. Somewhere in Ampang, you will see many Koreans. Venture into some of our private colleges which teach English without students although there are many student names on the register and you will probably see some Iranians. And thats apart from the thousands of Indonesians, Thais and Philippines here.

We are truly Asian, indeed.

Speaking of Talibans, if you happen to be an American couple of 60 years of age or more, please be careful while in your hotel room. Your room may be raided at 3am and both of you dragged in a hearse or kereta mayat to a religious agencys office for khalwat. After finding out that you are not Muslims, you would be duly released.

So, dont worry too much about it. It is part of our effort to give you a full Malaysian experience, an experience which you will not forget and will ever remember.

Thank you for flying with us, MAS, Malaysia Air-Asia System, ooops, sorry, the Malaysia Airline System. Here at MAS, we give a lifetime warranty that Malaysia will not turn into an asylum. This lifetime warranty is good for 10 days or until you go completely insane, whichever comes first.

While in Malaysia, please do not hesitate to drive around. Rent a car, like our national car, the Proton. Mind you, Proton gives a lifetime warranty that its power windows will work. The lifetime warranty is good for 10 years or until 250000 km, whichever comes first. A double lifetime warranty that all four tyres will continue rotating is also in the pipeline, we heard.

D! o switch on the television set and watch our national channels please. The contents are guaranteed to be inoffensive by the Minister of Information himself. So you can watch all the programmes without being worried that any of them might offense you, your wife or girlfriends, your kids, your mother or anybody. All offensive programmes, including advertisements or public announcement service have been removed. Do not worry.

However, there might at times be some black & white video clips of half naked men in a towel in a hotel room waiting to have sexual intercourse with a nice little sex worker during prime time. That is not offensive. So please do not be offended by that.

While you are having your nice Italian, French or plain old English dinner, there might be some discussions on our national television channels about how semen could be found in the ass without any penetration of the ass and the likes. That is also not offensive. Sorry if you find that offensive. You are obviously hyper-sensitive social miscreants from the West who is too concern with political correctness. Get real please.

For those of you who are Christians, please be careful while talking to the Muslims over here. They are very weak and they could be proselytise to Christianity very easily. If that happens, you are at fault. You could be dragged in a hearse or kereta mayat to any religious office and be interrogated. They might raid your hotel and do whatever.

As a guide, please conceal your crucifixes while talking to your Muslim friends. If you wear crucifix on your necklace or bracelets, do conceal it. If you have a crucifix tattoo on any part of your body which could be seen by your Muslim friends, please remove those tattoos before meeting your Muslim friends. They might get offended or worse still, they might convert to Christianity after meeting you. Trouble, I tell you!

Now, I wish to make a special announcement to all of you who are British. We are sorry and please accept our most fervent apology fo! r saying all this while that you lot had colonised us. We now say you have never colonised us. Repeat. You, the British, have never colonised us.

All those times, you were only protecting us from the evil Dutch, Portuguese and Thais. In fact, looking at our nation 54 years after you all had left, we now think that you were actually protecting us from ourselves. Our deepest gratitude to you all. Never mind the fact that all our Sultans or Malay Rulers had to follow and do whatever you said. You have been very kind to station your advisers in all our states to advise our Rulers and forced them to follow such advices. Thank you also for permanently rearranging our society.

For all that you have done in protecting us, we have repaid you with our tins and all our other natural resources. We have also allowed you to convert our land into rubber estates and named our roads in your British names. In fact, we are sorry to have stolen your British names and used them for our roads, schools, temples, churches and others. You have been very kind.

You might ask why our Father of Independence screamed out Merdeka, Merdeka, Merdeka (Free, Free, Free) at the stroke of midnight of 31st August 1957 had we not been colonised by you? Well, it seems that he was only celebrating the divorce of his good friend from his three wives.

The point is, you have not colonised us. Sorry for saying so for the past 80 years or so.

For those of you who are inclined to know our contemporary political and societal issues, please be advised that you will not impress Malaysians in any of your conversation with us if you talk about our newly read budget for 2012, the fast rising inflationary rate, the impact of the global economy, particularly the impact of the forthcoming Europe meltdown, or the United States debt ceiling or similar matters.

The most recent issue in our political arena, which is being discussed everywhere for the past 3 days is the squeezing of tits. In local lingo (use the local lingo if you want ! to impre ss us ya!) that is called ramas tetek. You can start your conversation with anyone of us by asking, eh, true ahh that fler ramas the tetek? And just follow the flow of the conversation after that.

If you want to impress your Malaysian friend more after that, throw in some discussions about sodomy. Then try discussing about the possibilities of semen ending up in the ass without penetration. Come up with your own theory, like the semen could fly into the ass. Something like that. Then talk about sex videos. You will surely be a hit with the locals in no time.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure serving you and we hope to see you again on our flight. A very good evening from me, your friendly stewardess, Norazilawati Azreen Sherry binti Mahat.

(silent)

.

.

Ding dong. This is your chief crew, Tony Fernando. On behalf of Captain Ahmad, welcome on board flight MH481 to London. We apologise for Cik Norazilawatis mistake in reading the arrival greeting instead of a departure greeting just now.

Our flight to London will take 13 hours.

UIA wants Aziz Bari to show cause...

The International Islamic University has issued a show-cause letter to its law lecturer Abdul Aziz Bari, who recently courted controversy with his recent public comments on constitutional matters concerning the Malay rulers.

Sources told Malaysiakini that the university, known as UIA by its Malay acronym, that the letter was issued to Abdul Aziz this afternoon.

The content of the letter has yet to be determined, as Abdul Aziz could not be contacted.

Malaysiakini has not been able to confirm the matter with university authorities as it is after office hours at the time of writing.

The police are investigating Abdul Azizs comments on the Selangor sultans decree on the state Islamic Affairs Department's 'inspection' of a multiracial thanksgiving dinner on Aug 3.

A police report was lodged against Abdul Aziz by Senator Ezam Mohd Noor, who accused him of inciting the public to hate the institution of the royalty.

Ezam deemed this to be seditious and a threat to security and order.

NONE

After lodging the police report, Ezam also urged UIA to take action against the law professor who is a well known constitutional expert.

He said that UIA had brought shame to the university and Abdul Aziz was in cahoots with Malaysiakini as part of a planned evil agenda to undermine public institutions.

Earlier this morning, Abdul Aziz had confirmed that he had been questioned by ! the Shah Alam district police over the matter.

He revealed that he is being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is also probing the matter and have interviewed Malaysiakini staff today.

wira - Show cause for what? For expressing an academic opinion? It's no wonder why no Malaysian universities make it to the Times top 400.

Anonymous - OMG! the University can't be that serious. This man learned in the law was just expressing his intellect on the matter. It is a kind of education and knowledge for all and sundry by an expert in a certain field. If you don't agree with him, fine, share your knowledge, if any, with him and the others and let the public and others of equal knowledge concur or differ. That is how one learns otherwise one will always remain in the shell forever. A bunch of idiotic morons who have overstepped the bounds of common sense.

fairplayer - Oh dear, UIA is listening to traitors and kataks! UIA is obviously dependent on UMNO to survive??? Where is the freedom of speech and expression? UIA doesn't recognise or appreciate their quality and truthful law professor! Does UIA prefer hypocrites and racists? If so, UIA and Malaysia are both doomed, unless/until a new and better gov't is in place! May the good Lord help Malaysia!

P.Dev Anand Pillai - This is the best chance for Aziz Bari to quit IIU and join some other better Universities around the region. This is what Prof Rama had to go through when he was with UKM, today he is the Dep Chief Minister of Penang, so the writing in on the wall Prof Aziz, get out while you can and join PAS and seek a good urban sea! t, you w ill definitely win hands down if you are put as a candidate this coming GE. They harrassed Farish Noor and he now teaches in Singapore, they did the same to Prof Azly and he is now in the US. So they will continue this Gestapo like rule if the Malay academics disagree and revolt. So the moral of the story is that the Malays must remain dumb and stupid and must not question. There is no room for smart Malays in Malaysia. Your own kind will finish you off. Soldier on Prof Aziz, PAS will be a good platform.

AZIZ BIN KADER - Why law experts cannot make their comments? UMNO proof he is wrong instead of using police like school children.

- Is IIUM senate or board of directors controlled by UMNO?

Quote - 'So the moral of the story is that the Malays must remain dumb and stupid and must not question.'
Sorry...but we are not like those dumb UMNO goons....

cheers.

Gobala roars at Penang state rep outside Dewan

KUALA LUMPUR: An Independent MP blew his top after meeting with a Penang state assemblyman today.

A raging Padang Serai MP (IND) N Gobalakrishnan was seen shouting and shortly afterwards chasing a retreating Pantai Jerejak state assemblyman Sim Tze Sin outside the doors to the Dewan Rakyat.

Im against talking against Anwar, hes (Sim) talking all this to me.

He thinks hes an ADUN (state assemblyman). So what?! I also never go and shout at anybody out there! Gobalakrishnan yelled as reporters watched.

He was also gesturing forcefully at Sim, who quickly stepped outside and disappeared from parliament shortly after.

PKR wants seat back

According to Gobalakrishnan, Sim had approached him in the MPs lounge a few minutes earlier and told him to step down as Padang Serai MP and return the seat to PKR.

He was telling me how I was ungrateful (and) that the seat (PKR supremo) Anwar (Ibrahim) gave me was Anwars property.

I was in the party for 12 years. We were building up the party for (Anwar) when Anwar was in jail. I was in the (party) central committee, I contributed, and they gave me the seat.

Now theyre telling me to go and resign! Gobalakrishnan thundered.

He also said that Sim demanded that Gobalakrishnan returned the RM3,000 bail money that was allegedly used in a Penang case involving him.

I was charged in a Penang court, and he (Sim) says he wants me to return the bail money. I told him to go there and claim the bail, Gobalakrishnan said.

Gobalakrishnan quit PKR in late January this year after crossing swords with Anwar and the partys deputy president, Azmin Ali.

Until January, the Padang Serai MP had been a renown party loyalist! and a d iehard Anwar supporter for 12 years.

Pakatan did not keep promise

In an unrelated matter, Gobalakrishnan cried foul over Pakatans promise to retain Kampung Buah Pala as the oldest enclave of ethnic Indians in Penang.

He said that Anwar made the promise during a walk-about prior to the 2008 general election.

Kampung Buah Pala made headlines in 2009 when private developers demolished the village.

The Penang state government then stepped in, and agreed to compensate the families with a double-storey house each. Only 15 out of the 24 villagers accepted the offer.

Gobalakrishnan said that the new houses built in the area today were now mostly Chinese-owned, and complained that Kampung Buah Palas Indian identity has been destroyed.

He added that the government should have offered the houses at a cheaper price to the Indian community and keep the villages essence in the process.

Marin tahan kapal curi balak

The most cruel cut of em all

As a father, my heart goes out to Lim Guan Eng whose teenage son is being politically abused by the cruel inhuman Umno and other upstart politicians.

It is surely sad that the Malaysian politicalculture has descended to such a low gutter level that a 16-year-old innocent boys life may be permanently damaged or even destroyed by the evil derogatory politicians who dragged him into a shameful circumstance with their mischievous wickedlies.

Such immoral morons should be politically castrated, and treated as beastly pariahs by all right-thinking and righteous persons fortheir extremely uncouth and uncivilized character and behavior, even if they have doctorate degrees or graduates of prominent prestigious universities like Oxford.

I know what it is to be falsely accused of something shameful like what the poor chap is subjected to, as I too had the misfortune of being a victim of such a cruel allegation. But being an adult, it was much more easy for me to overcome the deceptive stigma, and walk tall again since my conscienceis totally clear before God and people, and certainly, myself. From young, Ihad adopted as my personal motto the three principles of Honest to God, Honestto Myself, and Honest to People. Living by these three principles has sustained me through many crisis and periods of intense difficulty or even danger.

The immoral morons who initiated and perpetuate the lies about Guan Engs son are definitely persons lacking in character, integrity, credibility, maturity, and, certainly, spirituality, whatever religious faith they profess.

They are surely people who are so stupid not to know and realize that their thoughtless remarks would cause inestimably emotional, psychological, and spiritual impact on the young innocent boy.

One thing I am very puzzled about is why the school authorities have not come forward to clarify and explain the whole matter, to give the boy his j! ust and fair due. It is simply the height of irresponsibilityfor the school management to refrain from telling the truth, perhaps because ofeither political patronage or political pressure. In the name of justice and fair play, I demand that the school authorities concerned should come out with an official statement refuting the lies.

(Admins note: The school authorities have denied the lies.)

I believe the people, especially Penangites, should mobilize around Guan Eng and his family at this critical time when they are under fierce demonic attacks for what they stand for, fight for, sacrifice for, and even paid for with their personal freedom and life. I urge all believers in Godto come together to uphold Guan Eng and his family members in prayers. This isthe least we can do. The more concrete action is to ensure that Guan Eng is returned as the chief minister or our beloved Penang.

And to Guan Engs son, I want to say that we believe you, and we will always love and care for you. The baptism of fire that you are going through now is going to make a great man out of you, like your grandpa Kit Siang and father Guan Eng. God bless and protect you always!

One thing I am very puzzled about is why the school authorities have not come forward to clarify and explain the whole matter, to give the ! boy his just and fair due.

Negeri MCA tense as rivals eye Seremban seat

SEREMBAN: Tension is building up in Negeri Sembilan MCA as the general election approaches and three senior leaders set their sights on the Seremban parliamentary seat.

They are Wanita MCA chief Yu Chok Tow, Negeri Sembilan MCA chief Yeow Chai Thiam and Seremban MCA chief Peter Lai Yit Fee.

All three were trounced by the DAP in the last electionYu in Seremban, Yeow in Rasah and Lai in Nilai.

An internal crisis has started, said a source close to state MCA leaders but apparently aligned to Lai.

By merit, Lai is the one entitled to contest. He is, after all, the MCA boss in Seremban.

The source sees Yeow as a bigger threat than Yu to Lais chances of being nominated for the seat.

Yu will not get the support of Seremban MCA as she was already fielded in Seremban in the 12th general election and lost. She lost to John Fernandez by nearly 4,000 votes.

Also, she is not on good terms with the party president. But she feels the party should field her again as she still holds a national level post.

Lais main challenger now is Yeow because, as state MCA chairman, technically he has the right to contest any seat he wishes.

According to the source, Lais camp is arguing that Yeow, as Rasah MCA chief, should contest there instead.

At a dinner here last August, Lais deputy, Ho Yok Kee, spoke publicly about Seremban MCAs determination to oppose any attempt to field anyone from outside the division, and that would apply even to Yeow.

But Yeows men argue that Lai does not command anymore support from voters. In the last election, Lai lost to Yap Yew Feng by 1,258 votes.

They claim that their boss is well known among the Chinese in Negeri Sembilan ! and stan ds a good chance of winning in Seremban despite his decisive defeat in Rasah in 2008. Negeri Sembilan DAP chairman Loke Siew Fook beat him by 13,151 votes.

Sources said none of the three is interested in Rasah this time around.

#LoyarEqual: Feminism Is For Everybody

That is the title of a book by bell hooks, explaining how the politics of feminism serves everyone. It was also a dig at mainstream establishments that purport to be progressive, but really only served a certain section of the population.

Because everybody is different, there are many different approaches in feminism that work towards visions of equality. They do not always agree with each other. Sometimes one silences the others, due to power imbalances. This happens because we are people with our own privileges and prejudices that the status quo has ingrained into us. This is why it is important to be self-aware, and always consider our position amongst the many.

Feminism is for everybody, even the men who for some reason believe themselves uncontrollable (or, other men but themselves), and unrapeable. Feminism forgives and expects men to be better. Feminists love men; that is why we want men to stop hurting womenwhat kind of abusive relationship is it, to hear the men we love constantly degrade us for simply being who we are?

Feminism protects men, too; by acknowledging that sexual violence happens regardless of sex or gender, we move to protect the men who hide and hate themselves in secret shame. We move to protect our sons, so that they grow up learning how to be in the world without violence. We move to protect our daughters who will one day become sons.

Feminism is for everybody, even the class of women reviled or ignored for being a different class or caste. We understand that certain groups of women are more at risk of sexual violence, and the economic exploitation that enables such violence. We are at risk of being raped or harassed by bosses, co-workers, and subordinates who are all too eager to get their jollies off by humiliating us! .

We know that we are simply expected to put up with this abuse, because men experience it too (except men do not have to deal with the same kind of sexualisation when they face insubordination). We must serve us all, even our Filipina or Indonesian maids, even our migrant workers from Bangladesh and Indonesia, even our homeless. We must address the needs of the poor single mother struggling to feed her children, we must address why the world would look down at this as a piteous thing.

Feminism is for everybody, no matter your race, your skin tone, your appearance. We must work towards a world where we dont get harassed for being too dark, where we dont feel pressured to have fair and perfect skin, where we are still taken seriously even if were not dressed nice enough (there is no nice enoughit stops at too nice too easily). I do not have stats, but I would not be surprised to find that there are racial biases in how we deem women beautiful.the more we look a certain, racialized way, the better for us. (I know this happens in the modeling world; Eurasians get more gigs because supposedly they have a greater range. Makes one wonder why any industry needs a racialized character for any visual ad.)

Feminism is for single people; why be taken less seriously for not hitting that keystone of adulthood called the marriage institution? Feminism is for married people; why be taken less seriously because our spouse is more of a priority? Feminism is for the childlesswe are not frivolous nor selfish nor pathetic for not having kids. Feminism is for familieswe need that maternity leave and the time off work to tend to our families and excuse us if were not 100% committed to lining company pockets with profit because we have the rest of our lives to live and note that I am using gender neutral-language in here because no ! one ever thinks men and fathers have the same issues.

Feminism is for you, too, but not just you, not just your family, not just your friends, not just your co-workers. Feminism is also for your boss and your maid (if you have one), for your teachers and students, for our leaders and followers, the nasi lemak seller, the roti man who also has a family to feed. There are few movements with so many branches, so many tendrils, so many roots, all reaching out and overlapping each other in so many ways, the same ways that everybodys lives interact and intersect.

By oneself, it is difficult to apprehend and comprehend the vastness of the world of people. The feat is simpler when we acknowledge everybody else in it, too, who are doing the same work, and cross-reference and share knowledge. This is why there are many different kinds of feminisms. This is why feminism is for everybody.

Gerakan seeks BN censure of Umno MP

KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan is asking the Barisan Nasional leadership to punish an Umno MP over a perceived insult made in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.

Simpang Renggam MP Liang Teck Meng told reporters today that he had complained to Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin about Kalabakan MP Abdul Ghapur Sallehs remarks regarding Gerakans attempt to have a presence in Sabah.

According to Hansard records, Abdul Ghapur (photo), while speaking on the 2012 Budget, said:

Gerakan has had its roots pulled out of the peninsula. And now it wants to settle in Sabah. The Chinese in Sabah say, If the peninsular rejects Gerakan, then why does BN want to give that stupid Chinese man a chance to put candidates in Sabah?

He was referring to Gerakan President Koh Tsu Koon and the partys poor showing in the 2008 election.

It may be his personal opinion, Liang said, but he has not only damaged Umnos image, but also that of Gerakan, and damaged the relationship within the BN component parties.

Abdul Ghapur also alleged that Gerakan had paid people to attend the inauguration of a party office in Tawau.

Two weeks ago, the Gerakan president went to Tawau, officiated a Gerakan office. And it was full of people who were paid RM300 each, he said.

He complained that some Umno members had to attend the ceremony.

If it was just the Chinese, then thered be nothing wrong, but Umno members from Tawau and Kalabakan were also brought along. Th! is is sh ameful.

Leaving it to the BN whip

None of the MPs from BN stood up yesterday to defend Gerakan or censure Abdul Ghapur.

Liang (photo) told reporters his party was asking Muhyiddin in his capacity as the BN whip to take action against Abdul Ghapur.

However, he declined to say what Gerakan would do if the Kalabakan MP was not punished.

I have already submitted to the DPM, he said. He is the whip. I will leave it to him.

BAJET 2012: SUATU ULANGAN PENIPUAN UMNO/APCO-BN

Bajet 2012 memperuntukkan sebanyak RM232.8 bilion.

Kini Bajet 2012 sedang dibahaskan. Semua perbahasan dibuat tanpa kehadiran Laporan Ketua Audit Negara Tahun 2011.

Fahamilah rakyat Malaysia sekalian.
