'Keep it up, PDRM. I need to be reminded when I cast my vote during GE13. As you know, Malaysians 'mudah lupa'.'
Bakri MP arrested for wearing Bersih tee
Anonymous: I think this is going too far and the government is being paranoid. Where is the freedom for the rakyat to wear what we want and in whichever colour we want?
Prime Minister Najib Razak must be spooked when he saw Oueen Elizabeth II in full yellow dress during his audience with her on Thursday.
She sure has a sense of humour as she knows very well how our government reacts to yellow.
Anonymous: Do they think they are able to extinguish the fire in the rakyat's heart just by arresting everyone wearing the Bersih T-shirt? How naive they are.
Anonymous_4198: The government is 'kotor' (dirty) - that's why they can't stand the word 'bersih' (clean). When the police see the word 'bersih', they feel insulted because they know that they are 'kotor' and if 'bersih' takes over, it will be the end for all of them.
Louis: It looks like the government is banning the word 'bersih' altogether. Most probably, they will use 'clean' in place of 'bersih'.
By right, in Bahasa Malaysia justice should be 'keadilan'. But 'keadilan' is already a taboo to our words cum colour-phobic leaders. Perhaps 'bersih' can be replaced by Chinese or Tamil or Mongolian words.
Kit P: Keep it up, PDRM. I need to be reminded when I cast my vote during GE13. As you know, Malaysians 'mudah lupa' (easily forget). This is also a very good antidote to the 1Malaysia propaganda.
Forensics officer says 'no sign of suicide nor homicide'
Josephine: Yet another case of "no evidence of suicide nor homicide". If Sarbaini Ahmad did not kill himself, and neither was there signs of someone committing a murder, how did he die?
The conclusions are very similar to that for Teoh Beng! Hock. I hope this sort of finding is not going to become rampant.
Malaysian2020: Oh my God, not again. Imagine every crime scene investigator using this term 'not suicidal nor homicidal', then what? Their job is to find out the truth not to add more confusion.
Chipmunk: This is what is called the blame game. Since dead men don't talk, they use everything against him. You can have all the right evidence against you but under the Umno administration, there is no such thing as Umno losing.
Kong Nien Sian: I suddenly feel very unsafe in my country. Not so much the possible way I could die, but from the fact that no one will ever know what happened.
Orang_gila_malaya: Could the investigator please give Malaysians one good reason why Sarbaini wanted to use pantry window on a high floor to go out from the MACC building? He could have used the main entrance.
Ex-Perlis mufti slams apple-polishing in Umno
Jeremy: Former Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, you are right. I think this apple polishing is not only confined to our police. It is happening also within the judiciary.
At the rate this apple polishing culture is developing in the civil service, the check-and-balance system will soon be eroded. And each party will help cover for one another to 'cari makan'.
Anonymous_3f35: Well said Asri, logic and reasoning has never been Umno's tools. When you can threaten violence using all manner of public institutions, organisations, thugs and goons, why would you want to use logic or reason?
Change is the only constant as they say, and Umno and its two-tongued leaders are frozen in time with their feudalistic 'ketuanan Melayu' garbage. Of course, the spineless MIC and MCA have eaten the crumbs (sometimes the main course too, as in the PKFZ orgy) and kept silent. Frankly, 50 years of this is enough.
And a reminder, mufti, don't repeat the myth t! hat if t he government had allowed Bersih to march, nobody would remember the electoral reform demands - it has been a central theme among all right-thinking Malaysians for a very long time.
Ben Hor: It's just like what PM Najib Razak once said in one of the by election ceramah: "You help me, I help you".
Pakman: Salam to Asri. We thank you for your honesty and the logical discourse that you have highlighted post-709. That should remind those in Umno that the aspirations of the rakyat cannot be taken for granted. The rakyat expect the government to be fair and tolerant in facing the rakyat's grievances.
With the apple-polishing members surrounding Najib's inner cycle, the government is regressing and the rakyat are made to pay for the government's mistakes. Logic and common sense have long abandoned the Umno/BN regime. Now is the right time for the rakyat to correct the wrongs.
Alan Goh: Asri, the culture of blind loyalty to Umno and the lack of tolerance for dissent started from 1981 when the fake-Malay PM (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) took over. Corruption and abuse of power, rewarding cronies and Umnoputras with APs, contracts, etc, binded their loyalty to one person only, the president of Umno.
The racial polarisation and the rot we see today are the legacies left behind by the ex-PM after 23 years of his corrupt rule. That is the sole reason Umno is 'kotor' and against Bersih.
