Someone is trying to kill Anwar

MalaysiaKini : Abdullah Sani Haji Said, who has been the driver to Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim for the past 28 years, suspects someone or some group of trying to sabotage his boss's car with the ultimate aim of trying to hurt or even kill Anwar.
News of his chilling report sent shivers down the spines of millions of Malaysians who have seen their country ravaged beyond recognition in the past 3 years by a ceaseless cocktail of sodomy, sex and now sabotage politics.
Abdullah, 51, lodged a police report against attempted foul play at the Merchant Square station in Petaling Jaya at 3pm this afternoon. The car in question is an old although in good-condition Mercedes S350, which is frequently used to ferry Anwar and his family around.

In his report, Abdullah specifically mentioned an accident that happened on April 19.
It was late that night and he was driving Anwar's wife and PKR president Wan Azizah and Faekah Husin, political secretary to Selangor Menteri Besar, to a PKR function in Chemor, Perak when a lorry overtook them, forcing him to slam hard on the brakes.
But the car not only slowed, it shook violently and soon, the sound of a loud explosion came from the back of the car. Somehow, he managed to steer the Merc to the side of the road. It became completely immobile and had to be towed away. When Abdullah looked around, he saw broken pieces of brake disc strewn all over the road that they had travelled.
Later on, his mechanic told him that a caliper-guide bolt-pin that supports the disc brake had been removed.
"I was told that i! t is imp ossible for the bolt to come off without someone removing it. Based on what the mechanic told me, there are also elements of sabotage, considering that the vehicle is regularly used by Anwar," Abdullah said in his report.
"The car was in good condition when we started driving it and since it is also impossible for the bolt to come off without someone removing it, I believe that someone did this deliberately to hurt or kill Anwar Ibrahim."
He has attached a copy of the testimony from the mechanic with the police report. There have also been other instances and smaller accidents that he brushed aside until the mechanic's report confirmed his growing suspicion.
Meanwhile, although shaken, PKR leaders said they were not surprised and many had even expected some sort of "move" such as this against Anwar.
"I am not surprised by this sabotage. There is a culture of political lawlessnes taking root in our country which is mainly caused by the inflammatory actions of Umno and the BN and newspapers like Utusan. The BN leaders' conduct encourages extremists," PKR vice president N Surendran told reporters.
Lawlessness and sabotage
Indeed, the 63-year old Anwar is no stranger to sabotage. He has been thrown into jail where he had to spent 6 years in deplorable conditions that created permanent injury to his back. If not for full glare of the international press during his incarceration over fabricated sodomy charges in 1998, many political veterans believe he would been killed off in jail.
"News like this is always surprising to me because while you think badly of people, you never expect them to be really so bad. But analysing the history, I guess it is something many of us have always warned about and that's the truth. In 1998, they dared to give him a black eye," says Eddie Wong, a PKR veteran.
"In 2008, they dared to replay the whole sodomy drama. They didn't care whether people believed or not, they just! did it. There really is no respect for law in this country anymore."
Eddie was referring to the physical beating personally dealt out to Anwar, who was then the deputy prime minister, by former Inspector General of Police Rahim Noor. This was done at the police lockup where Anwar had been detained during the first round of sodomy charges levelled against him by ex-premier Mahathir Mohamad. The federal courts only dared to acquit Anwar in 2004, months after Mahathir retired.
After he was freed, Anwar spent years getting his back treated and is still a patient requiring regular phsyiotherapy and medication. That has not stopped Prime Minister Najib Razak from launching a second wave of sodomy charges against his political arch rival. But the latest trial has proven to be just as rickety as the first, only shaming the country and deterring investments without really denting Anwar much.
Reverse effect

Those who doubted his popularity and political resilence were reminded of his charisma, when despite all odds, Malaysians somehow still chose to believe in Anwar rather than Najib over the by-now infamous Datuk T sex video scandal.
No amount of snippets leaked onto YouTube could silence the enthusiastic cheers each time Anwar gave aceramahor political lecture and slammed the BN for their "dirty tricks".
In fact, the sex video actually helped PKR and the Islamist PAS party to regain their shine, with the overly blatant gutter-politicking pushing fed-up members of the Malay community over to the Pakatan side.
Magnificient gains by Pakatan partner DAP and also PKR itself at the recent Sarawak elections caused further panic. Historic wins by the opposition in pro-establishment Singapore was another reason for Najib and the Umno elite to get flustered.
"The plan in Umno seems to be to jettison everything and everyone - just focus on the Malay v! ote. The y just want to secure as far as possible all the Malays. This is their area of the battle now," PKR vice president Tian Chua told reporters.
"They don't care about the non-Malays, the further the Chinese and the Indians go away from them, the better. It is too late for the reforms they want, Najib has dilly-dallied too long. Umno can only rely on emotion and racial and religious emotions are the strongest. This is why you get absurd dramas like the Christian state, mosque oath-taking, bullet-proof vests. But our feedback on the Malay ground and also that from the PASmarkasis that the Malays are disgusted. It is too much to digest and they are vomiting Umno."
Stay away from helicopter, small plane rides
But within Umno itself is a long-standing leadship vacuum of its own making. Its ruling elite comprising family members of the founding leaders are quick to cut off any new blood that tries to get onto the top tier. Through the years, the party has become a very tiny and factionalised old-boys club.
Sensing this, Malay talent has opted to join the ranks of PKR, PAS and DAP rather than Umno. Whether Najib admits it or not, under him, the Umno brand name has sunk to its lowest level since independence from colonial rule in 1957.
"There is no one to take over from Najib. He can't do a thing and everybody knows it. Muhyiddin has his own baggage and may not be palatable to the Najib and Mahathir families. The thing is that Anwar is from Umno and the darling of the grassroots in 1998. Even Mahathir couldn't challenge him and that's why we had Sodomy I," said Eddie.
"Anwar doesn't talk about his Umno roots anymore because he has his own PKR party now, and there is no question of him re-joining Umno. But when you look at the Malay community as a whole, you find that there still isn't anyone but Anwar. And this will be why his car may get sabotaged. If I were him, I wouldn't take helicopters! and sma ll charter plane rides."

Utusan being used to divert attention

MalaysiaKini - PETALING JAYA: DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng said the recent price hike of essential items and the controversial Utusan Malaysia report that Christians are conspiring to install a Christian Prime Minister is linked.
Its a deliberate and desperate attempt by BN-Umno government to divert attention from the real issue. Its poor economic mismanagement and policy failures have resulted in the prices of petrol and sugar to go up, said the Lim, the Penang Chief Minister.

Lim said the recent rise in the price of petrol and sugar have exposed the real malicious motive behind Umno leaders purported alarm over allegations published by Utusan that a Christian conspiracy is afoot to turn Malaysia into a Christian state.
Instead of explaining the price rises, Utusan had taken the easy way out by designing a dangerous lie against the Christians, an easy target to bully, said Lim.
He was referring to the hike of RON97 petrol announced last Wednesday, to RM2.90 up 20 sen since the last increase in April. Five days later, the price of sugar went up by 20 sen to RM2.30 per kilogramme, a 10% rise from the price of RM2.10 per kg.

The price hikes are a part of the governments plan, announced last year to reduce its expenditure on subsidies.
BNs double standard
Lim dismissed claims that the latest price increase resulting from a cut in sugar subsidy would enable the government to channel RM116.6 million saved to development projects.
He slammed the government for this, saying he doubted that the RM116.6 million is likely to go towards development projects due to the lack of transparency and rampant corruption.
Corrupt! ion is r ampant with no open tender for the proposed new RM53 million MRT project and refusal to investigate the RM52 billion missing bumi/Malay shares scandal, he said.
He said that the government stands to save RM19 billion if it ends gas subsidies to independent power producers (IPPs).
He quoted a recent United Nations report which said that Malaysia experienced a moderate slide in economic growth partly due to the lack of political will to carry out reforms.
Lim added that if the government fails to punish and stop Utusans campaign of lies that Islam is under threat, it will only make the Christians, who are helpless, unable to defend themselves.
It will make them an object of hatred and incite Muslims against the minority Christians. Such double standard by BN leaders add to the suspicion that Utusan enjoys full immunity as an Umno-owned paper, he said.

Anwar - I did not call Najib 'pandi kutti'...

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has denied calling premier Najib Abdul Razak "pandi kutti", (piglet in Tamil) during a ceramah for Indian Malaysian supporters over the weekend.

He also said those levelling the accusation are guilty of defamation. Umno defames (me) - I said pornographic politics, cruelty, corruption like pandi kutti; I did not mention name," Anwar said on his micro-blogging website Twitter yesterday.

TV Selangor, owned by the Selangor government, concurred, stating that it had recorded Anwar's speech in full. In a report published today, it reproduced Anwar's quote to show that the derogatory word was not aimed at Najib as claimed.

According to the report, the quote, originally in Malay, was: "It means that, if we fight with desperate parties, they will resort to desperate behaviour including (distributing the sex) video. "(PKR president Dr Wan) Azizah (Wan Ismail) says 'Don't eat too much because later (you will) become like the person in the video'. This is really pandi kutti."

The report also claimed that Anwar had told the audience in Klang that 'pandi kutti' may sound crude, but there is no culture in the world that resorts to dirty tactics such as distributing pornographic videos against political leaders.

PKR vice-president N Surendran, who had attended the ceramah, confirmed that Anwar did not use the term on Najib.

"Instead, he used the word in relation to the dirty and gut! ter poli tics practised by BN," he said in a statement today.

Defending Najib

After the allegation made by a blogger, Umno leaders and their allies have been training their guns on Anwar, receiving wide coverage by Umno-owned Malay daily Utusan Malaysia.

Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor said it reflected Anwar's immaturity, while Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali said Anwar had lost his sense due to growing political pressure.

Pandi Kutty - Anwar dakwa difitnah lagi

Minta Adnan Mansor belajar memahami Bahasa Malaysia dengan betul!!

UMNO goons and Utusan Meloya are good at twisting words...

Umnos Christian plot to bag Muslim votes

MalaysiaKini - KUALA LUMPUR: The allegation of a Christian coup being planned is an attempt by the Umno-led government to stir up controversy to revive Muslim support, said the editor of Catholic weekly, Herald.
Speaking to the Vatican Radio, Father Lawrence Andrew claimed that the government felt that it was losing the popularity it once commanded.
Because they are losing popularity, they will enjoy some uneasiness that will create confusion that will create fear in the people, he said.

He said the allegation was absurd, pointing out that Christians made up less than 10% of the population.
Andrew had also criticised Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein for the latters remarks regarding the issue.
The minister, he said, was not being prudent in describing the allegation as serious, and stating that the government would take action.
If I were to have said that (a similar allegation about other faiths), I would have been arrested immediately, and I would have been brought to the police station.
But (since) it is being done by the Muslims, none of them have been arrested till today, he said.
Last Saturday, the Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia published a front-page report claiming that Christian leaders were conspiring with DAP to make Christianity the official religion in Malaysia instead of Islam.
Hard truth

The report, based on unsubstantiated claims by pro-Umno bloggers, also accused the groups of praying for a Christian prime minister.
Both DAP and Christian leaders had denied the allegation, and lambasted Utusan for spreading dangerous lies.
In his interview with the Vatican Radio, Andrew said he agreed with Penang Chief Minister and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng that Utusan was setting fire to the land.
Since the 2008 general election, Barisan Nasional had failed to win back support from the Chinese community, illustrated again in the recent Sarawak polls.
Whether or not the Utusan article was a plot, a political observer said that BN and Umno realise that as far as Chinese votes were concerned, the writing on the wall was clear.
BN can no longer depend on Chinese voters, that is the hard truth.
The prime ministers 1Malaysia concept and other inclusive policies have failed to make an impact on them. So BN and Umno must rely heavily on the Malay vote-bank.
Malay voters are split three ways between Umno, PAS and PKR. So striking fear in their hearts about a Christian plot involving DAP will definitely erode support for PKR and PAS, since the two are DAPs allies, added the observer.

Blogger behind Christian Malaysia report deletes posts?

MalaysiaKini - KUALA LUMPUR: The blogger responsible for Utusan Malaysias Malaysian Christian conspiracy report, marahku.blogspot.com, appeared to have deleted all posts related to the allegation amid escalating racial tension between the countrys Christian and conservative Muslim communities.
A check by FMT showed all posts on the issue have been removed or deleted from the pro-Umno blog just as Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein revealed that nine police reports had been lodged against Utusan and those behind the allegation.

The removal of the postings has triggered questions over the veracity of its allegations as seen on the ongoing debate on the microblogging site Twitter.
Pro-Umno Twitter users were also seen questioning the reasons behind the removal:
@daxmuhammad: Strange. Tarik handbrake? RT @BroJinggo: Knp http://marahku.blogspot.com delete semua artikel dlm blog dia? Dh buat silap ke? Kesian ko BD!
(Strange. Pulled the handbrake? @BroJinggo: Why (did the blog, address above) deleted all its articles on his blog? Has he made a mistake?)
The posting that accused predominantly Chinese opposition party, the DAP, of masterminding a conspiracy with Christian leaders to baptise Malaysia and paved the way for a Christian prime minister, was picked up by Utusan and published as front page news last Saturday.
Dangerous lies

In his blog posting headlined, Agong under threat? DAP wants to make Christianity the official religion of Malaysia?, the writer accused the DAP of trying to amend the Federal Constitution to allow a Christian to become prime minister.
The whole point of changing! the off icial religion is to allow a Christian to become prime minister of this country, said the blogger.
Both DAP and Christian leaders had dismissed the report, and accused Utusan of spreading dangerous lies with a political motive.
They also said the continued attacks by Umno-owned Utusan on the Christian community have rendered Prime Minister Najib Tun Razaks effort to unite a racially divided Malaysia under his 1Malaysia hollow.
This is made worse when right-wing groups like Perkasa and Pembela, known Umno sympathisers, are calling for investigation on the matter and used the report to back their allegations that the position of Islam and the Malays are under non-Muslim threat.
Najib and other Umno leaders have called for calm while some said the Utusan report is unsubstantiated.
The disconnect between Najibs plural agenda and Utusans hawkish attacks suggests a split between Umnos top echelons and its grassroots which has openly call for maintaining Malay hegemony.

Singapore pump prices slide

Petrol and diesel prices tumbled on Monday following a sustained slide in crude oil prices. -- ST PHOTO: NEO XIAOBIN

PETROL and diesel prices tumbled on Monday following a sustained slide in crude oil prices.

It was the first dip at the pumps after an unrelenting spiral spanning nearly 10 months.

Caltex made the first move when it lowered petrol and diesel prices by five cents a litre across the board at 11am. This was followed fairly quickly by Singapore Petroleum Co (SPC), Shell and Esso.

Last Friday, crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange for June delivery ended at US$97.18 (S$119.75) a barrel after sliding for five days on worries about the state of the US economy.

The commodity had been trading above US$100 as recently as two weeks ago. Despite Monday's cut, petrol prices in Singapore remain above the $2-mark.

A litre of 98, 95 and 92-octane petrol at SPC now retails for $2.12, $2.07 and $2.02 respectively. Diesel is $1.63. All rates are before discount.

PAS not amused by Najib's 'horoscope' game...

PAS vice-president Mahfuz Omar scoffed at prime minister Najib Razaks recent hinting of the general election date, saying he was relying more on the right numbers rather than instil confidence for policies to decide the date.

It seems the Prime Minister is desperate to hold the general election and relies heavily on the numbers calculation, said Mahfuz, adding that the move showed Najib had no confidence his policies and reforms could convince the people.

Numbers and dates do not mean anything, added the Pokok Sena member of parliament.

Earlier, Najib in a radio interview last week hinted the general election would be held on November 11 because of the special place of the number 11 in his life. He cited the birthdays of his parents, his son and the anniversary of UMNO's formation (May 11), of all of which fell on the eleventh day of the month.

But Mahfuz has no time for Najib's horoscopes.

I am surprised that Najib has such belief in numbers. I wonder if he believed that the number would bring him luck," he said.

Mahfuz stressed that PAS was ready to face the general election without relying on numbers.

PAS is ready, we dont rely on numbers. We shall accept whatever number, he quipped.

Mungkin, Najib's lucky number '11' boleh juga membawa maksud berikut....

Quick Wins Not Enough to Fight Brain Drain

MalaysiaKini : The World Bank Economic Monitor Report on Brain Drain has attracted extensive commentary in the media. This is unsurprising as everyone should be concerned at the gravity of the situation.

The World Bank estimates the Malaysian diaspora to be about one million-strongand thats a conservative estimate. Whatever the exact figure, the numbers are worrying when one considers that about one-third of Malaysians leaving are skilled workers representing a brain drain which is three times larger than in 1990.

This issue is close to my heart as many of my university friends have joined the ranks of Malaysians leaving the country. Their voting with their feet is an indictment of the economic, social and political policies the country has pursued in the last couple of decades. No one can deny that we cant go on like this, and that our political economy needs to be reworked.

Unfortunately, the response of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razaks UMNO-BN government has been disappointing. The New Economic Model (NEM) that it has adopted prioritises quick-wins and low-hanging fruits. This is consultant-speak phrases for focusing on populist, short-term measures without taking the more difficult, long-term fundamental reforms that are required to solve the root causes of the problem.

For instance, Najib seems to think that forming Talent Corp Malaysia Berhad and proposing a 15 percent flat income tax for five years for returning Malaysians will bring our Diaspora back in droves. With all ! due resp ect, this approach is wrong-headed.

You are not going to stop the brain-drain by forming yet another government corporation. Conversely, it sends a wrong message to Malaysians who have voluntarily returned to Malaysia by selectively rewarding certain individuals or nakedly attempting to lure expatriates to our shores with goodies.

Such cosmetic changes do nothing to address the main reason why Malaysians are leaving. Social injustice ranked high in the World Bank survey on why Malaysians choose to leave: as many as 60 per cent of respondents listed is as among the top-three drivers behind their decision to migrate. Discrimination both in public and private sectors, as well the socio-economic inequality that plagues the country are robbing us of our best minds.

It must also be stressed however, that the brain drain is not an exclusively non-Bumiputera phenomenon. Both my Malaysian housemates in London chose to stay on in the UK. One is a Sarawakian Iban while the other is a Kuala Lumpur Malay. While the numbers are still smaller than the non-Malays, many more and more Malays have migrated now in search of a better life, or to prove that they can succeed without government help.

On the other hand, we must accept that people are more mobile in a globalised world. And the brain drain is not exclusively a bad thing it opens new networks overseas and those who eventually do come back are enriched with a wider and more diverse experience. But the growing net brain drain where we increasingly lose skilled workers whether Malaysians or non-Malaysians while we gain non-skilled immigrantsis a problem.

Moving forward, the government should consider the following policies:

A more e! ffective quick-win solution would be to allow all parents to choose the school of their choice for their children. The rigid, non-inclusive one-size-fits-all education system both deters many Malaysians from returning and pushes skilled Malaysians in the country to migrate.

In the long term though, a major overhaul of our education system is required. Most Malaysians can only afford government schools and only by making our national schools more inclusive while improving their quality can we make national schools the school of choice for all Malaysians again.

Ultimately the government must focus on talent-retention as that is the sure-way of fighting brain drain. Expecting the Malaysians who have successful careers overseas and started families there to uproot just because they saw a Talent Corp advertisement about the low-tax rates is silly.

Neither is the obsession with attracting foreign knowledge workers enough. While they should be welcomed, they only come at the right price and most do not intend to stay permanently in the country. Resident Malaysians or those who are coming back have more ties with the country do not expect the expatriate treatmentthey should be given the priority.

The government must adopt Pakatan Rakyats Orange Book proposal to introduce a policy of meritocracy and needs-based affirmative action. The present approach which provides choice and quality only for the rich while exacerbating racial differences down the line will not work in 21st Century Malaysia.

The government must keep politics out from GLCs and the economy in general. Due to political interference, many talented non-Malays face a glass ceiling in the civil service, GLCs and politically-connected sectors. At the same time, many genuine Malay entrepreneurs without the ! right po litical connections also suffer due to discrimination from the private sector as well the government.

Unfortunately, Najibs administration seems to be only capable of spin without substance, in this issue and everything else. It has betrayed a total lack of political will to push through direly-need reforms when it runs against the interests of UMNO. In the meantime, the UMNO-owned media and allied-NGOs, as well as the government institutions which the party has compromised continue to exacerbate sectarian tensions that threaten to destroy the nation and cause regional instability.

Malaysias wealth, dignity and future are certainly not safe in the hands of such people.

Umno fiddles while Malaysia burns!

MalaysiaKini : Waking up two mornings ago to hear Utusan ranting about a group of Christian leaders were praying to change this country to a Christian state with a Christian PM was almost laughable.
Not that a Christian PM is impossible if you go by the provisions in the constitution but a Christian state? They've got to be joking. Or so it seems!
UMNO got to be worried sick that all it's propaganda and maneuvering were not working but it's backfiring them instead. From Anwar Ibrahim Sodomy 2 trial and the so-called sex video seems to be falling on deaf ears and the rakyat don't seem to buying into that and rightly so!

Then, they train their guns on PAS and almost in a begging stance to join them under the pretext of Islamic struggle. UMNO went on to alleged that their partnership with DAP will not get them anywhere coz after all DAP was against the setting up of an Islamic state by PAS.
"So, why stay on with DAP/PR" asked Najib? Their wooing and begging has been derided by PAS as Mahfuz Omar succintly puts it "How can PAS unite with Umno when it is Umno that is oppressing Malaysian citizens? he argued."
He went on to condemed UMNO as Public Enemy # 1 and they are the worst "national robbers" we have ever seen. This definitly is a tight slap for Najib as the UMNO President has himself extended the invite to PAS themselves. For the record, UMNO has extended 8 invitations to PAS to form a unity government so far!

Not wanting to let go as most UMNO leaders are (even the retired ones) Pembela came up with a statement alleging that Islam is under threat in Malaysia because of Christians now. That a majority population (60%) can feel and be threatened by ! merely a 10 % of the population is mind boggling to start with.
Their argument was since Christians are being appointed in some non-Muslim affairs portfolio and are still confused by the Allah & Al-Kitab issue will lead to massive apostasy in this country.
Now let us be clear on this. If the Muslim population is confused by all this then the onus is on them to educate and clear any misgivings which they have and NOT to make a scapegoat of others. This is a simple common sense but instead this issue has been turned by UMNO-BN to propagate fear and to further sow their inferioity complex on the majority population of this country.
The Quran first revealed word is "Read" which implies knowledge seeking and the ability to distinguish right from wrong. But here we see Pembela wants Muslims in this country to remain in their ignorance so that the powers that be can control and direct the minds of the Malays according to their whims and fancies!
Then, this sets the stage a few days later for UMNO mouthpiece Utusan to shock the nation that indeed Islam is under threat as Christians are taking over this country. The plot thickens when Utusan alleges that Christians are praying for a Christian PM and and to change the religion of the federation from Islam to Christian.
What nonsense? How far will UMNO go to ensure it wins the next GE13? Are they willing to stoop this low by coming up with such wild allegations without an ounce of truth or evidence. But of course, UMNO-BN has never been concerned with TRUTH since their formation in 1940/50's.
Is it a sign that they are very desparate and willing to go as far as to burn Malaysia down as long as the UMNO-BN is in power. If it is then they have lost their moral right to be leaders of this country. It is truly dangerous to be led by this kind of immoral and unscropulous leaders who are bent on doing anything just so their status quo remains.
The wedge UMNO is trying to drive between Pakatan partners has ! not been effective enough. Indeed, many are able to see their dangerous game that UMNO is playing with. Let me reiterate that UMNO will not give up playing with this kind of fire. It won't as long as their position as the number one party in this country is so threatened today.
The real party who feels threatend is not the Muslims as many thinking Muslims has said but UMNO themselves. UMNO are the ones who is fiddling with many unnesasary issues for their own survival while Malaysia burns!
Let's bring them down once and for all for the good of this nation in the next GE13!
Let's Press On!!!

Sorry not in Najibs dictionary

MalaysiaKini l COMMENTJeswan Kaur :Sorry this is one word the countrys leadership is not willing to say when the situation calls for it. Four months ago when a Sikh male participant of the National Service (NS) camp complained that his hair had been cut while he was asleep at the camp, the news received no sympathy from the government of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
Knowing well that the incident trampled upon the religious sensitivities of the Sikhs, Najib decided silence was golden.

Making it worse was Najibs wife Rosmah Mansor who decided to take the liberty of defending the NS instead. She said that parents were more confident of the NS and that the programme had endured many trials during its implementation.
More recently, on May 2, Najib and wife attended a gathering to celebrate Vaisakhi, the Sikh New Year (which fell on April 13). In his message, Najib subtly but certainly cautioned the minority communities including the Sikhs that good will only come their way if they do not abandon the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
This (being a partner) is the best way for the Sikh community to work with the government towards realising the 1Malaysia vision. I believe Malaysia will become more successful and prosperous (by doing this), were the words of Najib when opening the 1Malaysia Vaisakhi celebration at Dataran Merdeka.
In the presence of 20,000 guests including foreign tourists, Najib gave his word that the welfare of the minority groups will not be sidelined while the government gets busy creating a society that is progressive and competitive.
And then came Najibs words of ! caution all ethnic groups regardless of their numbers need to cooperate and become a part of the government to ensure their interests continue to be protected.
Does it mean should the minority communities lose faith in the BN government, that would automatically lead to the demise of their well-being where the BN is concerned?
Is that how BN under Najib displays respect to the minority groups, threatening to withdraw all interest in their welfare should they refrain from throwing their whole hearted support to BN in the coming general election?

Why was there no respect for NS trainee Besant Singh by way of saying sorry? Likewise, the sorry was no where in sight when former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad warned the non-Malays to remember that Malaysia belongs to the Malays, simply because this country was once called Tanah Melayu.
Desperation hounding Najib
Najibs report card as far as the minority communities are concerned leaves much to be desired. It cannot be disputed that the BN government has failed the minority groups time and again.
The recent Labour Day rally arrest of 20 protesters including Sungai Siput MP Jeyakumar Devaraj and social activist S Arutchelvan is one such example. The arrest was justified as an illegal assembly.
Some 400 people comprising estate workers, residents from displaced housing settlements and civil societies made up the rally. Their intention calling for a minimum wage and objecting to the continuing price hikes.
The arrest of the protesters ran contrary to Najibs claim that the well-being of the minorities will be looked after.
As Jeyakumar put it, why did the police bar the peaceful march by the protesters? Was t! he arres t necessary?
We dont need to have police permit since the government recognises Labour Day as a public holiday. The police dont understand their role in a democracy, Jeyakumar had said.
When Najib asked the ethnic groups to cooperate with the government, he clearly was sending the message that any move otherwise by these groups would put them in the bad books of BN.
Forcing the minority communities to unflinchingly support the BN government when the latter clearly has failed to safeguard their interests reveals the desperation hounding Najib in ensuring victory belongs to BN come the 13th general election.
In the case of the Sikh community, would Najib have allotted the three lots of land for their place of worship had the Sikhs taken him on in the Besant Singh case and demanded an apology?
Just what exactly does Najib expect from the minority groups? Would it please him if the minority communities danced to his tunes at the expense of their dignity?
How does it affect Najib when a minority group faces the prospect of becoming homeless after their plea for low-cost houses from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (City Hall) falls on deaf ears? This is the on-going predicament of 41 families of the Bukit Jalil estate whose 26-acre land is now being eyed by City Hall.

Little respect for the minority groups
The squabble between the residents and City Hall has dragged on for years. The residents, once estate workers, demanded that four acres of the 26-acres be used to build low-cost houses but this was dismissed by Federal Territories and Urban Well-Being Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
Instead, on Feb 23 this year, Raja Nong Ch! ik offer ed RM23,000 each to those who had worked over 15 years on the estate and RM11,000 each for the rest. Dissatisfied, the residents lodged police reports against City Hall, Raja Nong Chik and City Hall Mayor Ahmad Fuad Ismail repectively but no action came about.
The former estate is now the property of Bukit Jalil Development, which is planning to evict the former estate workers using the Emergency Ordinance.
When families who are on the verge of losing the land they have occupied for three generations lose faith in Najibs government, who is to blame?
For the families of the Bukit Jalil estate, they were given a weeks ultimatum by Raja Nong Chik to consider the offer, failing which they would be evicted, either way.
When the residents wanted to negotiate compensation, the least helpful Raja Nong Chik turned sarcastic and told the families concerned they should be thankful that the BN government had forked out a lot of money creating the Little India in Brickfields.
Can Raja Nong Chik clarify how is Little India related to the residents plea for low-cost houses? Also, did the BN do the Indians any favour by giving Brickfields a facelift?
Clearly, Raja Nong Chik does not subscribe to boss Najibs 1Malaysia nation and has little respect for the minority groups.
Also, City Halls promise to the families that contractors would pay the residents wages and make Employees Provident Fund contributions for working on the rubber plantation was never kept.
For Raja Nong Chik, the latest offer was the best the government could do for the Bukit Jalil estate residents.
City Halls hanky-panky
Such high-handed behaviour by a government servant like Raja Nong Chik. Will Najib apologise to the families involved?
The residents were just as perplexed to know that City Hall was negotiating on behalf of a private entity, that is, Bukit Jalil Development.
Just as sceptical over the entire dr! ama was independent observer Shin Choong Man who had questioned the governments true intention of wanting to build a cemetery on the land acquired by City Hall.
Are you trying to say that a private developer wants to build a cemetery on this valuable piece of real estate? Shin had asked.
Since Najib has said cooperation from the minority groups is important in protecting their interests, can his government do the same cooperate with minority residents who are being bullied into giving up their age-old land?
Is Najibs idea of a progressive and competitive society one that has no empathy for the less privileged? Will Najib do what is necessary and make sure no one loses a roof over their heads just because the government has a hidden agenda to fulfil?

Respect Sabahans and Sarawakians, PKR told

MalaysiaKini - KOTA KINABALU: A well-known activist, who has closely observed Sabahs political landscape since the formation of Malaysia in 1963, has some advice for PKR be more respectful and sensitive to Sabahans and Sarawakians.
Veteran activist and politician Fredoline Edwin Lojingki, 70, said the advice, if heeded, would help PRK and its Pakatan Rakyat partners in their march towards Putrajaya.

He said that PKR was falling into the trap of believing that it knew best and should be the one dictating who should represent the people of the two states.
Its a trap it cannot emerge unscathed if it is not a bit more sensitive and respectful of Sabahans and Sarawakians, he said.
Lojinki, who worked alongside the likes of state independence heroes such as the late Fuad Stephens and Peter Mojuntin in the 1960s and 1970s, urged the opposition party to be sympathetic to the locals.
Lonjinki, who was with the now-defunct Unko or United National Kadazan Organisation in the 1960s, said PKRs behaviour in the Borneo states was insulting to the locals.
I have seen it all the ups and downs of political parties and leaders.
I am quite amused by the sheer courage of the PKR leadership to bulldoze the PKR-DAP-PAS alliance for a one-to-one fight with the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) in Sabah in the coming general election.
As shown by statements including the latest by its president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in Kota Kinabalu, it appears to me that PKR is too preoccupied with the one-to-one fight between Pakatan and BN.
It just wants to enhance its chances of replacing BN as the federal government and for Anwar Ibrahim to be the prime minister.

Usurping rights
Lojingki said that by insisting on a one-to-one formula, PKR was usurping the rights of political parties and individuals in Sabah and Sarawak to contest in an election.
Of course, the call for one-to-one fight would reduce BNs chances of winning, since it has been in power for a very long time and given its current deteriorating clout among voters.
But PKR should learn to approach this issue by respecting the views of Sabah and Sarawak and the two states inherent special autonomy rights within Malaysia, he said.
He said that PKR has little excuse not to learn from last months Sarawak election where it won only three seats out of 50 it contested.
And even then the three candidates won the seats based on their own personal strength rather than PKRs clout in the state, he added.
According to Lojingki, PKR can help achieve the one-to-one fight with BN by confining itself to the 11 states in the Peninsula, and allowing the state-based parties in Sabah and Sarawak to do the work.
Arent 11 states enough for PKR? he asked.
Your arrogant approach by merely offering only three, out of 71 seats, to SNAP (Sarawak National Party) in Sarawak recently shows you are like the arrogant Umno.
If PKR is sincere, PKR and its allies DAP and PAS should stay away from Sabah and Sarawak and let our people elect from among our state-based parties who should represent us in Parliament and the State Legislative Assembly.
We can always be your partner at the federal level. Why must a Peninsula-based party always be in control of Sabah and Sarawak?
Open secret

Lojingki believes Pakatan harbours the intention of fielding candidates in all the 60 state constituencies and 25 parliamentary seats at stake in Sabah in the coming general election.
It is an open secret that Pakatan only needs to win! about e ight to 10 parliamentary seats in Sabah and Sarawak to propel them to Putrajaya.
They are confident of winning and they will offer SAPP (Sabah Progressive Party) only one or two seats as enticement to partner with them later at the federal level.
It is like SAPP going for all seats in the Peninsular states and offering PKR to contest in only two to three constituencies.
Is this acceptable to PKR? I think they would brush this aside as nonsense and illogical.
But what about you doing this to Sabah and Sarawak parties and leaders? he asked.
If they (Pakatan leaders) can dominate us now while they are still not a federal government, what more if they already occupy Putrajaya?
Even if Pakatan assumes power, it will be voted out in the next general election, judging from its arrogance, he said.

RCI: Prosecution head coached witness?

TEOH RCI MACC Abdul Razak Musa has been accused of coaching witnesses on how to respond to the panel’s questions.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) prosecution head Abdul Razak Musa was today accused of coaching witnesses on how to respond to questions by the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) investigating DAP aide Teoh Beng Hock's death.

teoh beng hock inquest 070809 bar council lawyer cheow wee.jpgSenior enforcement officer Azian Umar, who was recalled by the Bar Council to testify before the inquiry today said that Abdul Razak had instructed her to "only answer when asked, and don't answer when not asked".

This was raised when Bar council lawyer Cheow Wee (left) questioned Azian on a SMS exchange between her and her superior Hairul Ilham Hamzah.

The contents of the SMS raised eyebrows today.

Azian on July 17, 2009, a day after Teoh's death, appeared to have pleaded with Hairul to not order their subordinate officers to "make false statements".

Cheow asked Azian, who first testified in the RCI on Feb 28, why she did not volunteer the information pertaining to the SMS then.

The enforcement officer after a short pause said, "It wasn't an issue (and) I wasn't going to make it an issue."

Her answer with regards to Abdul Razak's role prompted RCI chairperson James Foong to ask MACC lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah if he was aware of the instruction.

Foong: I'm sure you don't know anything about this? I'm concerned about the SFC (senior federal counsel, Abdul Razak) practically coaching witnesses, telling them what to do. Isn't this unethical and also very immoral?

Muhammad Shafee: I don't want to say it is coaching. It is very normal for counsels to speak to their witnesses. But in this case maybe all he wanted to know was what the SMS was all about.

Foong: What part has he got to play anymore? He was at the inquest... why did he have to call up this woman (to tell her what to say)?

Muhammad Shafee: He is still the head of prosecution (in MACC) and Kevin (Morais) is his deputy. I wouldn't conclude it as a dishonest act, just yet.

Azian said Abdul Razak asked her to come over to the MACC's academy in Jalan Duta and told her about the SMS just before the RCI convened in February.

Cheow: So if you knew about it, why didn't volunteer the information to the RCI? You were told only to answer to questions directed?

Azian: Yes.

The full SMS content:

Tn, bebudak ni mntak tlg jgnlah suruh diorg wat pernyataan yg tdk btl, kes ni kes besar tn, melibatkan nyawa org, kalo tipu skali nnt bkali2 kena tipu, kalo sorg tipu nnt ramai lg yg nak kena sokong penipuan 2.

I am just giving my opinion... I'm not very clever about religion. It's up to you on how you are going to accept it. We don't live long right, sir.)

'We were told how to answer'

Azian, who took long pauses before responding to questions posed, seemed rather hesitant to share her views.

She told the panel that she had attended two meetings to discuss Teoh's death, an event which was denied by almost all the MACC officers who had testified in the past.

However, there were more gatherings than the two meetings she had attended, added Azian, but she could not recall how many.

The first meeting was chaired by then-Selangor deputy director Hishamuddin Hashim and discussed what happened and the role of each officer in the operation.

Cheow: Can you tell us, in your own words, what took place?

Azian: It wasn't a briefing, we were just asked to explain our role in the investigation (into the misuse of state funds)... I wasn't directly involved so I didn't speak up.

At the second meeting, which was held at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, prior to the inquest into Teoh's death sometime in August 2009, then MACC investigations director Mohd Shukri Abdull, deputy public prosecutor Kevin Morais and Hishamuddin were present.

Cheow: What took place?NONE

Azian: We were told how to answer in the inquest. Shukri (right) spoke and Kevin gave his opinion.

Cheow: Was there an instruction to lie?

Azian: No.

Referring to the SMS, Cheow then asked Azian what prompted her to send such a SMS to her superior.

"I asked Hairul to advise the officers to give accurate statements because that night they were going to give their police statements," she said.

Cheow: What moved your heart to say that? You said at the meeting (there were) no instruction to lie?

Azian: (Because) the officers (complained to me that) they got instructions from Hishamuddin to say that they got their orders (during the probe in July 2009) from Hairul.

She added that she sent the message to Hairul instead of Hishamuddin as she "discussed matters easily with Hairul".

Azian said she "regretted" what had happened to Teoh but stressed that she had never seen any other witnesses or suspects tortured or abused in their office.

NONECommissioner Mohamad Hatta Shaharom (left) then asked how she and all the other officers felt about their former boss, Hishamuddin.

"Afraid," described Azian, adding that if they were to go against orders, it would be "difficult" for them to work and their chances in getting "promoted" would be affected.

Teoh, political secretary to Seri Kembangan assemblyperson Ean Yong Hian Wah, was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam on July 16, 2009, after being questioned overnight by the Selangor MACC at their 14th floor office, over irregular disbursement of state allocations by his employer.

The RCI currently in session is looking into Teoh's death and the MACC's interrogation methods.

It was formed after an inquest into his death delivered an open verdict ruling out suicide and homicide.

The inquiry resumes tomorrow with testimonies of from psychiatrists Dr Ba'diah Yahya, Dr Noor Hayati Ali and Dr Paul Mullen.

APNewsBreak: Newt Gingrich to announce 2012 presidential bid

Newt Gingrich, who in the 1990s led the Republican Party to its first majority in the House of Representatives in 40 years, has announced that he is running for president.
MalaysiaKini : ATLANTA Newt Gingrich is running for president.
The former House speaker disclosed his bid on Twitter and Facebook on Monday and urged followers to tune into Fox News on Wednesday.
I will be on to talk about my run for president of the United States, Gingrich wrote after spending a year or more publicly laying the groundwork for a GOP presidential candidacy. I have been humbled by all the encouragement you have given me to run.

The move was hardly a surprise; Gingrich has spent months raising money, assembling a campaign team and visiting early primary states. He also quietly opened a campaign headquarters in Atlanta, and had long been scheduled to address the Georgia Republican Party Convention on Friday in Macon, Ga. Aides say that will be his first speech as a full-fledged candidate.
Gingrich, 67, enters a Republican field thats far from fully formed; no less than a dozen Republicans are weighing bids and only a few have taken steps toward candidacies. Its a crop of candidates that has many in the Republican Party yearning for more options as they seek the strongest candidate to take on President Barack Obama in 2012.
Besides high name recognition, Gingrich brings to the race a slew of policy ideas, a network of grass-roots support and a political machine years in the making. But his personal baggage hes on his third marriage could hinder his chances as he seeks to woo conservatives who make up the core of the GOP primary electorate.
His ! entry in to the race marks a comeback attempt more than a decade after leaving political office.
The conservative former Georgia congressman rose to power after leading the GOP to its first majority in the House in 40 years, spearheading the Republican revolution in the 1994 elections and pledging to adhere to his partys Contract with America.

Once at the top of the House, he challenged the first-term Democratic president, Bill Clinton, at every turn. A spending fight between Gingrich and Clinton led to federal government shutdowns in 1995 and 1996, and Gingrich watched his popularity fall.
He faced charges of hypocrisy after revelations that he was carrying on an affair with a congressional aide at the same time he was criticizing Clintons relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. He divorced his second wife and married the aide, Callista Bisek; she now goes by her husbands surname.
In an interview earlier this year with a Christian broadcaster, Gingrich said his focus on his job contributed to his infidelity and the failure of his two previous marriages.
Ethics questions also dogged him as speaker.
Gingrich faced some 84 ethics complaints; they were leveled mostly by House Democrats who were in the minority and focused on what critics called his blurring of the lines between politics and his personal life. All but one of those complaints was dismissed with no penalty.
He paid $300,000 for the cost of investigating the final complaint whether Gingrichs college course had violated federal tax law as part of an agreement with House ethics investigators. Led by Republicans, the ethics committee never reached a conclusion about that allegation. And the IRS cleared the organizations connected with the course of any tax violations.
He stepped down from the House in 1999.
Since then, hes traveled the world speaking on issues from health care to foreign affairs, built a lucrative network of nonprofit and business ventures, and written a steady stream of books. All of that has made him one of the nations most well-known Republicans, with a loyal following.
In recent months as he geared up for a run, Gingrich has lambasted Obamas federal health law and has criticized the Democrats foreign policy as clueless.
The twice-divorced Gingrich also has been working to make inroads with social conservatives critical to the GOP primary base, highlighting his conversion to Catholicism after marrying Callista.
She works with her husband on documentary films and has figured prominently in campaign appearances in the months since Gingrich made clear he was considering a run.
Although he has lived in northern Virginia for more than a decade, the Pennsylvania-born Gingrich has also been playing up his Georgia roots. He taught college in Georgia and was a longtime congressman from suburban Atlanta, helping build the Republican Party in the state dominated at the time by Democrats.

Sugar price up 20 cents...

As from today, sugar will cost RM2.30 per kilo, up RM0.20, announced the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry today.

This is the fourth time sugar prices had increased since Jan 1 last year when it was priced at RM1.65 per kilo.

Prior to that, sugar prices were maintained at RM1.45 for a long period. This marks a 58.6 percent increase in less than one-and-a-half years.

According to the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, by increasing the price of sugar by RM0.20 tomorrow, the government stands to make a saving of RM116.6 million.

Mohd Zain stressed that sugar prices will still be cheaper than regional neighbours such as Indonesia (RM3.80), Singapore (RM3.61), Thailand (RM2.31) and Phillipines (RM4.50). (Apa pasal KDNHEP tak bandingkan harga gula kita dengan negara-negara Afrika seperti Sudan,Mesir,Afrika Selatan)

He said that despite the savings, the government will still fork out RM283.4 million in sugar subsidies.

This follows an increase in RON97 grade petrol to RM2.90 per litre a record high just a few days ago.

RON95 grade petrol, which was introduced in September 2009, is the most commonly used. Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak promised RON95 would be maintained at RM1.90 per litre for now.

The Shit-Stirrers in Malay Politics: Zakhir Mohamed aka Bigdog and Shamsul Yunos aka Marahku

In Bolehland, double standards prevail, especially where Utusan Malaysia and pro-UMNO bloggers are concerned. The recent uproar caused by two bloggers and Utusan Malaysia show that these three parties enjoy an invisible shield of protection. Had the situation been different and it was anti-BN bloggers who did the same, the parties concerned would long have been ISA-ed. So who are the two bloggers that triggered the storm?

Malaysiakini HERE reveals that bigdog who wrote that damning article HERE is Zakhir Mohamed who still insisted that the said matter must be investigated thoroughly as it may lead to a surge in Malay and Muslim anger. He is the same blogger who published RPK's June 2008 SD in his blog that got RPK in trouble with the police. Who gave him that SD when it was sent to the Altantuya murder prosecutors?

Another mystery to be solved?

Susan Loone revealed HERE and in Lim Kit Siang's blog that Jeff Ooi conceded that he did not have much information about the blogger Marahku who also created the storm HERE.

That anonymous blogger Marahku is actually none other than SHAMSUL YUNOS of Malay Mail, Mail Motor editor.

(click here to Shamsul Yunos FaceBook page:

He is CLEARLY linked to Rocky Bru who carried another mischievous posting HERE where he said

"WHAT WOULD KARPAL SAY?! Did the DAP organise a meeting of Sarawak pastors in Penang last night, and was there a vow to work towards changing the official religion of this country during that meeting?"

The blog Marahku has been DELETED . A copy of that damaging post is appended at the end of this letter. (The blog was already deleted as of 9 May 2011) The two most recent posts by Shamsul before the bl! og was d eleted were headlined as "Guan Eng to take action against Jeff Ooi?" and "Rampas kedudukan Islam wujud?"

And Marahku is anonymous no more. Look at the following photograph taken at the 1st Malaysian-Asean Regional Bloggers Conference.

SHAMSUL YUNOS of Malay Mail aka Marahku is the long haired one standing right in front of Rocky Bru in the 2nd row. You can see a clearer and bigger picture HERE.

Many Malaysians from all quarters have asked the police to take action against them!!

WHY HAVE THEY NOT DONE SO YET?

Their identities are known and even their place of work.

THIS HAS GONE FAR ENOUGH. Time and time again, Utusan Malaysia has crossed the boundaries laid down by many laws and got away with it.

Utusan even had the audacity to continue its evil agenda against Christians in its editorial today which insisted that Islam is the official religion of the country under Article 3(1) of the Federal Constitution, and that other races had no choice but to accept this as a fact.

It even said We know the consequences when the minority of this country play up things which the majority are uncomfortable with."

WHO IS THE ONE STOKING THE FIRE?

The PM told Malaysians to calm down and not to exploit religious issues now being played up in the Malaysian media. THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!

Remember how Malaysia Today news portal editor Raja Petra Kamarudin, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng were arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) in September 2008? They committed no crime but spoke the truth and yet they were ISA-ed.

WHY HAVEN'T THEY DONE THE SAME TO UTUSAN, Zakhir Mohamed and Shamsul Yunos who write nothing but lies and spins for an evil agenda, possibly for an even more evil person?

NOTE: Read here an earlier article about Zakhir Mohamed "PAS's Mujahid Yusof Dares Zakhir Mohamed aka BigDog and Ahiruddin Attan aka Rocky's Bru to be " Anak Jantan" Link

TELL US WHY!!!! Where is justice in Malaysia? Are they not going to rest until they stir racial feelings and create strife, animosity and unrest?

PUT A STOP TO IT NOW! ISA those culprits and let the cesspool of hatred be put to an end NOW!

Agong under threat? DAP wants to make Christianity the official religion of Malaysia?

The whole point of changing the official religion is to allow a Christian to become Prime Minister of this country

In order to change the status of Islam as the official religion of Malaysia, they would not only have to change the constitution with a two-third majority but would also have to get the consent of the Agong, as head of Islam in Malaysia to demote it to second spot behind Christianity...I think the only way DAP is going to achieve this is by putting a gun to the Agung's head.

History has shown that they have not minced their words when it comes to the formation of the Islamic State and yet the Malay/Muslims in this county has tolerated their rudeness.

I think it is time that we feed them our opinion whole, spare them the bite-size convenience and see how they like to gag on the words of others.

There would be blood on the streets if DAP were to take this vow to the streets and while Opposition types may want to accuse me of making up this story, take a look at the first photo above and the details in this posting and determine if any ! of this is true.

I hope and pray that it is not true but the photo above is part of two bits of information that came to me this morning and I must say that it really woke me up.

According to the message, last night DAP Jelutong organised a dinner for pastors from Sarawak and overseas at the Red Rock Hotel on Jalan Macalister in Penang and about 100 people comprising people from the consituency service centre, the pastros and jelutong ADUN Jeff Ooi and Kidurong's Chiew Chiu Seng.

Among the activities that night included the 35 pastors taking a group oath. They formed a circle and touched each other's shoulder and vowed in English to make Christianity the official religion of Malaysia and put a Christian Prime Minister in office.

Today the same pastors will take part in a convention at Berjaya Hotel from 9am to 5pm and they will attend a special meeting tonight at the Jalan Khaw Sim Bee Christian centre.

To put it in further context, we should remember that in Sarawak, the DAP had said that BN is anti Christ agent, a seditious statement and religiously divisive statement that was never investigated by the police. or at least they did not tell us about any investigations on the matter.

They are openly against BN on religious grounds and they are now making it their clarion call, their rabble rousing horn.

It is important for Muslims in this country to defend the position of Islam as the official religion and the requirement that a Malay/Muslim is Prime Minister of this country, not because it is part of the constitution or guaranteed by law but because it is part of our responsibility to ! ourselve s and our children.

The DAP can make their vows, that is their right but if they are planning to usurp the constitution and the Agung then something should be done by the authorities

On the other hand Malays and Muslim must today make a vow to defend the position of Islam as the official religion and the position of Malays as Bumiputra in their own homeland till the last man standing.

Never must we flinch or waver from this vow and we must make it known that we have made this vow and we are not to be trifled with.

Stop making excuses, as an Islamic country, Malaysia has been tolerant of all religious views as long as it does not encroach into Islam and in Sarawak where the Christian population is significantly larger than the Muslim community, there are more churches than mosques to reflect the situation.

What more do they want from Islam?

If true, this vow organised by DAP Jelutong is yet another insult to Islam and the Malays in Malaysia, for 50 years they lived in this country and worshipped under the protection of Islam and yet today they have taken the seditious position of trying to remove Islam as the official religion of the country that has given them so much.

The foreign element involved in the vows makes the event even more traitorous and I would like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to try and find out if this alleged vow did actually take place.

The authorities must never allow seditious elements to organise themselves and gain mass, if they do, it will be hard to stop them and this country may find itself shattered again.
