Zaid, who assimilated in 2009, overplayed his hand as well as in a end withdrew after failing to win over a votes of pass Sabah divisions. He has additionally quit a celebration though is still firing salvos from afar.

Pundits had warned of turmoil right from a begin of PKRs direct celebration elections as it would not usually win a celebration credit for giving each of a members an equal right to opinion for a leaders of their choice, though additionally for a brand new leadership lineup which it would fish out.

Put it this way, if Azmin was in Umno, he would already be earmarked PM material. He is young, intelligent as well as capable. He can speak fluent English without a bad abbreviation of Muhyiddin as well as Najib as well as he is a serious as well as solid personality. Quizzed upon a Third Force, Azmin conceded which it could destabilise a opposition coalition.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak pronounced which a presentation of a third force was due to PKR members rancour towards a party.

Although Azmin admitted this, he pronounced it was additionally critical to constantly engage with them.

In order to strike this, a PKR deputy boss pronounced he was prepared to engage with a civil multitude as well as bloggers in order to strengthen a partys credentials for a next general election.

The party's political business released instructions to the-then cabinet member general (Salehuddin Hashim) to inform Jenapala which he was sacked. So a emanate here is technical in nature. Jenapala was sacked as he tried to set up a brand new party, he said.

PKR exposes Jonson: The real lies, damn lies and crass stupidity

Jonson - part of a John Soh cliqueWong Choon Mei, Malaysia Chronicle

PKR leaders had harsh words for their former comrade Jonson Chong, accusing him of fasten hands with enemies of a celebration to taint them with false accusations as well as not giving a full design of a incident they pronounced he could not be unknowingly of.

We have been troubled during his behaviour. As a counsel as well as a former emissary secretary-general, he should handle himself with greater ethics as well as tell both sides of a story. We consternation since he did not mention that Jenapala left to form a brand brand new celebration that already automatically strips him of membership, PKR vital executive Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.

It is bizarre that Jonson has someway lost this fact. Sallehuddin as a afterwards sec-gen issued a minute notifying Jenapala of his sacking since he was additionally bankrupt. Now, what is being contended is, did Salehuddin pointer this letter. Is it unequivocally a anything forged as he claims? We would point that despite making dozens of allegations, Salehuddin has not denied a signature is his. Seems to me Jonson as well as his batch have been just seizing upon Saifuddins comments to make it seem as though PKR had fake Salehuddins signature.

Back-stabbing

In a essay entitled to grab maximum courtesy Lies, damn lies as well as stupidity, Jonson lashed out during his former party. He seized upon a headlines inform that which gimlet this quote from stream secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution, All you did was open our files as well as found a minute that Salehuddin signed... How am you supposed to know if his signature was forged.

SaifuddinDoes he expect members, supporters as well as a open to just accept this sore explanation as well as conclude all is well in ! a party? wrote Johnson.

I was speechless since there is no disbelief in my mind that a minute is a forgery, as well as you am dumbfounded that they could resort to such a thing to cover up an honest mistake, for that they could have just humbly informed a media as well as move on. Now, in light of a military inform lodged by a prior sec-gen, this make a difference cannot be swept under a runner anymore; especially not a way a stream sec-gen attempted to do it. Im vacant that he doesnt see a sobriety of a situation.

TianBut according to PKR sources, Saifuddin was only stating a obvious.

They pronounced a minute containing Salehuddins signature was found in PKRs record as it should have been, as well as since Salehuddin claimed it was a forgery, it is right as well as correct for Saifuddin to disclaim believe of either it is unequivocally a anything forged or not until investigations have been carried out. It must be forked that Saifuddin did assure full co-operation with a military upon a matter.

We have been sickened by Johnsons blatant back-stabbing as well as shocked he could bob so low as to seize upon a headlines inform to smear Saifuddin, who has regularly been kind to everyone. We consternation during his motives as well as impact a dark hands driving him from behind, though to be frank, this is not an unexpected growth since that he belongs to a class that is right away righteously or poorly called a Trojan horses, pronounced Tian.

Jenapala additionally unfit himself by combining brand brand new celebration

PKR sources close to Jenapala, who was sacked in Feb 2009 after being found to be a bankrupt, additionally told Malaysia Chronicle that he had set up a brand brand new domestic celebration as well as was behaving as a adviser.

Jen! apala - rascal for PKRThey pronounced this actuality itself automatically unfit him as a PKR member, though Jonson only wrote, When a Jenapala make a difference first came up during a celebration election, someone from a HQ called me to ask either there was a minute sent to Jenapala to pouch him. you pronounced there isnt such a minute as well as there never was such a preference to pouch him. There was only a preference to pouch him in principle, if indeed it was found that he was involved in a formation of a brand brand new domestic party.

They indicted Jonson of revelation a really lies that he had indicted his former celebration of telling.

Malaysia Chronicle appends next 4 articles published in a Tamil newspapers in 2009 (scroll below), tracking his intention to form a Malaysian Indian Democratic Justice Party upon Aug twenty-two as well as Sept 1 to his abdication from PKR upon Sept 3 as well as establishing a five-member team to meet with Pakatan Rakyat leaders upon Sept 14.

Who is a genuine liar as well as who is a genuine stupid is right away available for a people to see as well as judge. What sort of a male Jenapala, Jonson as well as their organisation have been is clear for all to assess. We will lay out all a facts. We did not shape metal a abdication minute as well as you did not manufacture these Tamil headlines reports, a source said.

As Syed Husin has said, if you wish to get out, just get out. Dont try to curry foster with Umno during our expense as well as dont try to hit back during Anwar Ibrahim as well as Pakatan Rakyat in this sort of underhanded way.

Salehuddin's signature

However, despite a excess of justification of Jenapalas duplicitous intentions, a crux of a make a difference as distant as a Salehuddin military inform opposite Saifuddin as well as PKR goes is, who sealed a minute notifying Jenapala that he had been sacked.

Jo hn Soh - fell out with AnwarJust as in a Altantuya murder, you have been regularly asking Najib as well as Rosmah, who ordered a killing, you have been right away asking Salehuddin, Jonson as well as their group, who sealed a Jenapala letter? a source asked.

The source additionally forked out that in Salehuddin's affidavit, he took great care to highlight that a minute was a forgery, that he never authorized it, that as sec-gen he had no management to pouch anyone though a Supreme Councils approval, that a language, format as well as stye of a minute was not his. However, during no time, did Salehuddin deny a signatures was not his.

Yet, according to a source, Jonson a counsel by contention had a benevolence as well as pomposity to skim over these facts, choosing instead to go all out as well as kill PKR whilst pretending to be doing it for a good of a party.

SalehuddinThe source was referring to Jonsons comment, Now, you share my true feelings not since you wish to embarrass a celebration though since you sense a participation of ridiculous audacity in a voice of a partys secretary-general. And you simply cannot sojourn silent in a face of bold-faced lies since you know it will in a future move a celebration to a knees.

Resignation from PKR

The source cursed Jonson for his two-facedness, divulgence that he had already voiced his skeleton to quit PKR. The source questioned since Jonson did not disclose this to readers as this would have obviously have a bearing upon his neutrality that readers had a right to know.

According to a source, when Jonson emailed to elections cabinet chief Molly Cheah his wish to step down from a vice-presidents competition (in that he was trailing distant behind), he additionally pronounced he wished to renounce as a PKR member.

Zaid IbrahimIf Jonson is ethical as he claims, he should have told readers his tangible situation. It is clear he has got an axe to grub opposite PKR, as a result a antagonistic article. After all, he is not happy to a extent he wishes to resign. It additionally appears he is perplexing to outing up a party. As a former emissary sec-gen, he should know really well that have been a correct channels to contention his abdication to, a source told Malaysia Chronicle.

"As he himself has pronounced in his article, a sec-gen has no energy to sack, what energy does Molly Cheah have to accept his abdication then? Why send to her? Is he afraid of Anwar? His intentions smack of bad faith. Is he regulating a same modus operandi as Zaid Ibrahim to inflict maximum repairs to PKR for whatever personal as well as domestic motive he might have?"

Historic mission to end Umno political hegemony and make Malaysia a normal democratic country

Fifty-three years after Merdeka and 47 years after the formation of Malaysia, Malaysians are at last within reach of a historic mission – to end Umno political hegemony and make Malaysia a normal democratic country where change of government through the ballot box is accepted as a healthy democratic process and not one to invite threats of man-made disasters.

Three years ago, before March 8, 2008, Malaysians would not dare to think or dream of this possibility in their lifetime – but now it is not only a realizable dream but one which could be accomplished in the next general elections expected to be held in the first half of next year.

This is the magnitude of the change in the political landscape brought about by the political tsunami of the 2008 general elections less than three years ago.

This is also why the Selangor DAP State Convention today is taking place at a historic moment in the nation’s history and why it is attracting national attraction well beyond its state boundaries.

Recently, after the Galas and Batu Sapi by-elections, former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir said Barisan Nasional is capable of wresting one or two states from Pakatan Rakyat as the opposition is in disarray, although he is of the view that BN would likely fail to regain its two-thirds parliamentary majority despite being returned to power in Putrajaya.

It is no secret that Mahathir meant Selangor when he mentioned “one or two states” which Barisan Nasional could wrest from Pakatan Rakyat in the next general elections.
Can Umno and Barisan Nasional win back Selangor in next general elections? Is Pakatan Rakyat government in Selangor impregnable and invincible?

I know there are people who believe that Pakatan Rakyat cannot lose control and power in Selangor in the next general elections.

In the 2008 general elections, Pakatan Rakyat won 17 out of 22 parliamentary seats in Selangor and 36 out of 56 state assembly seats (losing one as a result of defection).

Eight Pakatan Rakyat parliamentary seats in Selangor were won with less than ten per cent majority, namely Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat (these won with less than five per cent majorities) and Selayang, Gombak, Ampang and Kelana Jaya. In a recent by-election, PR lost Hulu Selangor, which was won with the slimmest majority of 0.4% in 2008.

For the state assembly seats, ten were won by Pakatan Rakyat with less than ten per cent majority, viz Sekinchan, Bukit Melawati, Cempaka, Damansara and Teluk Datuk (these five won with less than five per cent majorities) and Ulu Kelang, Bkt Antarabangsa, Lebah Jaya, Kota Anggerik and Selat Kelang.

Taking into account that Barisan Nasional had also won three parliamentary seats and 12 state assembly seats in Selangor in 2008 with less than 10 per cent majorities, is Pakatan Rakyat invulnerable, invincible, impregnable and unconquerable in Selangor?

We should not only take heed of the warning “Pride comes before a fall” but also learn from the lessons of history.

In the 1999 general elections, PAS had never expected to win power in Terengganu state but it swept the state with a landslide 28-4 victory in the state assembly seats.
In the 2004 general elections, PAS never expected to lose power in Terengganu but it lost in a reverse 4-28 sweep by Umno and Barisan Nasional.

Can what happened in Terengganu in the 1999 and 2004 general elections happen in Selangor in the 2008 and next general elections – capturing power in Selangor although never expecting to win before the 2008 general elections, and losing the state in the next general election although never expecting to lose?

This is why the Selangor DAP Convention today is important, as it will help determine whether Pakatan Rakyat in Selangor will repeat or avoid the Terengganu example in the next general elections.

I spoke of the “two fatal political assumptions” – one for BN and the other for PR – in Kota Kinabalu last week:

• That it is a great mistake for BN to believe that its hold on Putrajaya is secure and that it could win back the Kedah and Selangor state governments from PR based on its victories in the Galas, Batu Sapi, Hulu Selangor and Bagan Pinang by-elections.

• An equally great mistake for Pakatan Rakyat to believe that it is embarked on an unstoppable movement to capture federal power in Putrajaya with invincible control of its present state governments, particularly Kedah and Selangor.

I know that I have caused upsets with my “two fatal political assumptions” statement, but I prefer to be proven wrong in the next general elections rather than proven right!
The Selangor DAP State Convention today can be a major political milestone for Pakatan Rakyat to ensure that Selangor in the next general elections will not be a repeat of Terengganu in 2004.

But even more important, the Selangor DAP State Convention can help to end the crisis of confidence in the Pakatan Rakyat and restore the political momentum for democratization created by the March 8 political tsunami by giving new hope and inspiration to all Malaysians that the historic mission to end Umno political hegemony to make Malaysia a normal democratic country where change of government through the ballot box is accepted as a healthy democratic process and not one to invite man-made disasters remains on track.

How can the Selangor DAP State Convention today become a major political milestone in the historic mission of Malaysians of all races from all over the country to make Malaysia a normal democratic country, which is a prerequisite to save Malaysia from becoming a bankrupt nation in 2019 as warned by a Cabinet Minister and lay the basis for building a new Malaysia which is democratic, just, inclusive, prosperous, internationally competitive, a magnet for global talents and FDIs where every Malaysian has an equal place under the Malaysian sun.

Firstly, by ensuring that Selangor DA State Convention contribute to the solution and not aggravate the crisis of confidence in Pakatan Rakyat by avoiding any action or statement that could be exploited to undermine public confidence in Pakatan Rakyat.

Secondly, sending out a clear and unmistakable message of a single-minded unity of purpose to ensure that Selangor will not repeat the lessons of Terengganu of 2004 and full endorsement for national political change in Putrajaya. This message will be marred if key DAP leaders in the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor state government do not receive full mandate and support from the Convention.

Thirdly, also clear and unmistakable message that DAP stands constant and consistent for honest, clean and incorruptible politics whether at the national, state or local government level.

There is a place and role in DAP for every leader and member to contribute to the historic political changes awaiting the country. For DAP, just as for Pakatan Rakyat, united we stand, divided we fall.

Let us therefore venture forth to make this Selangor DAP State Convention a historic milestone to ensure that Pakatan Rakyat can retain power in Selangor and the other Pakatan Rakyat states of Penang, Kedah and Kelantan, recapture Perak state government which was “robbed” from Pakatan Rakyat illegally, undemocratically and unconstitutionally, take the offensive to Johore, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak as the front-line states and most important all, to make a successful bid for power in Putrajaya.

KESAH BENAR: Isu Kafir Mengkafir

1.0 Loteri UMNO 1951
2.0 UMNO menghalalkan arak
3.0 UMNO menghalalkan judi
4.0 UMNO menolak hukum shariah Islam dan hukum jenayah Islam
5.0 UMNO menolak Negara Islam
6.0 UMNO menyokong murtadnya Natrah
11.0 UMNO membuka kilang arak

UMNO GELABAH, SALAHKAN PAS

Misalnya kerusi Pengkalan Chepa.

POLISI MENGKAFIRKAN UMNO MERUGIKAN PAS

Delegates chide Ng for rejecting attempts to debate Tee's sacking

By Teoh El Sen

SUBANG JAYA: Disgruntled delegates at the 16th DAP Selangor convention have taken to task speaker Ng Wei Aik's rejection of their attempts to debate the 'unfair' sacking of former DAP strongman Tee Boon Hock.

Tee, who was the ex-state organising secretary and special aide to Ronnie Liu, was sacked after the party found that he had given out support letters to his family and friends to obtain government contracts.

Many viewed his sacking as 'unfair' and felt that the convention was the best place to debate his position

But each time a delegate raised the issue amidst shouts of support and applause, Ng rejected the request saying it was inappropriate to debate the matter at the convention.

Today, Tee made a surprise 'appearance' at the convention, rousing further support for debate on his termination.

Said Taman Gembira branch chairman Ivan Ho: "I disagree that this is not a proper place to debate on Tee Boon Hock.

"If this is not the proper place then where is the proper place?"

Ho, a Klang local councillor, said a resolution stating that Tee's 'sacking was unjust' should be passed. His call was bolstered by rousing cheer from the crowd.

Replying to Ho, Ng said any branch had the right to bring up any issue in the convention but it had to be done in accordance with the constitution. In this case a motion to debate the Tee issue should have been submitted earlier.

"But until today, I have not received any proposal to discuss this. I hope you can understand the constitution. I am not siding anyone. I do not even know who is Tee Boon Hock," said Ng.

To which, another delegate then claimed that a motion was indeed submitted three weeks ago but was ignored.

Unfair action

Teluk Pulai branch said a motion to reinstate Tee as a member was submitted. The motion explained that Tee had contributed a lot to the party and that the action taken against him was unfair.

Ng however ruled that as the motion would have been debated after the start of election process in which case the state committee had no right to decide on the matter.

“Secondly, the motion was not written in such a way as to adopt a resolution. It was written urging the central committee to reinstate Tee Boon Hock’s membership. It is a statement. A decision by a branch and did not attempt to seek the convention’s blessings.

"It was drafted as a statement that the Teluk Pulai branch had made a decision, so I have to reject the motion,” Ng said.

Tee is seen as a central figure in shoring up grassroots support for the "Rainbow Coalition" or Justice Reform Group.

Tee was said to have joined up with Teng, a long time rival of Ronnie Liu (Tee's former boss) after falling out with Liu.

Leadership's decision

Meanwhile another delegate from the Pandamaran branch questioned why members were quizzing the leadership's decision to terminate Tee.

"Tee Boon Hock is my good friend. We work together. As far as I am concerned justice must play a role...

"Who are we to question the disciplinary board and Central Executive Committee (CEC).

"What I am surprised is that a man of legal standing such as (Selagor Speaker) Teng (Chang Kim) would question the rights of the CEC?" said the delegate.

S'gor DAP polls: Neutrals win big

By Teoh El Sen

PETALING JAYA: Neither a Unity Team or Rainbow Coalition could explain a purify brush in a Selangor DAP polls when a results were voiced this evening - with 3 "neutral" possibilities coming out tops.

Teratai assemblywoman Jenice Lee garnered a top series of votes with 703, followed by Subang Jaya assemblywoman Hannah Yeoh as well as Klang MP Charles Santiago at third.

Five from a Rainbow Coalition managed to get in to a fifteen positions in a state committee, along with a leader as well as Selangor Speaker Teng Chang Khim, who came in fourth after Santiago.

Others from Teng's organisation were Sekinchan representative Ng Suee Lim, Senator S Ramakrishnan, Lim Soon Hong, as well as T Kannan.

The Unity Team, headed by Teresa Kok, got seven posts in a committee.

Kok's organisation represented a establishment organisation with a many series of MPs as well as state reps. Kok was said to be "acting upon a wishes" of a inhabitant leadership, which was focussed upon wiping out a rebel Teng as well as his supporters, consisting of celebration veterans sidelined by a party.

Incumbent state authority Ean Yong Hian Wah came out tops in a Unity Team with a sixth top series of votes overall.

Other winners upon his organisation were Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, Kampung Tungku representative Lau Weng San, Serdang MP Teo Nie Ching, Seputeh MP Teresa as well as MBPJ councillor Tiew Way Keng.

However, a elections saw state exco Ronnie Liu not creation a cut.

Based upon a results, a fifteen positions, together with which of authority as well as deputy chairman, would expected depend upon a 3 "neutral's" decision to behind yes or no camp.

Before a announcement of a results, a slight turmoil flared up when Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng suddenly stood up as well as interrupted Kok's speech, shouting: "Tere! sa, you won!"

Lim was then hauled out of a hall.

Teng gets a loudest cheers

During a introduction of possibilities in a morning, Teng received a many cheers whilst Liu was booed when he went up.

For a past several months, Teng's organisation had been gaining belligerent from aggressive campaigning, roving upon a momentum of former state organising cabinet member Tee Boon Hock's sacking.

Tee was sacked over a "support letter" fiasco. He had allegedly given await letters to family members as well as friends to obtain state government contracts.

The sacking also brought many members opposite Tee's boss, Liu, as they felt which a celebration was practicing double standards by letting Liu off with usually a warning.

Sime Darby paid RM40 millions or only RM4 millions to DBKL for the royalty payment for the Bukit Kiara Land?

by Wee Choo Keong

How about Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) which was occupying a piece of land in Bukit Kiara of about 60 acres which belonging to DBKL for many years? The said piece of land has been used by KLGCC for free for many years and it was was only been paid for by Sime Darby recently for a about RM400 to RM500 millions. Sime Darby had to also pay to DBKL another RM40 millions as some form of royalty payment. I am informed that the actual sum paid to DBKL was only RM4 millions. DBKL gave a special discount of RM36 millions! Why?

Background:

In the 1990s when I was the then Bukit Bintang MP, I was very much involved in exposing the sale of the Bukit Kiara land to Lum Chang from Singapore for a song. The said land comprising of a few hundred acres was sold to Lum Chang at about RM53,000 per acre for a 99 years lease. Lum Chang was given approval to build a golf course, which is now known as KLGCC, with an approval for building of 450 units of condo! This was the Cheap sale of prime land of the century. I brought this scandal to Parliament. The lease was finally reduced to 66 years and the approval for the building of condos was withdrawn. After that Lum Chang gave up and Sime Darby came it as a white knight and saved the prime land in Bukit Kiara. So KLGCC is now under Malaysian control. These are the little bit of background about KLGCC.

The issues now for DBKL and Ministry of Wilayah Persekutuan are:

1. Why was Sime Darby allowed to use the 60 acres of land in Bukit Kiara for free for s! o many y ears?

2. Why did DBKL gave a RM36 millions discount on the royalty payment?

3. Did Sime Darby pay RM40 millions or RM4 millions only as royalty to DBKL? (May be this was one of the reasons why Sime Darby cannot make the special audit report public!

4. Who was the special negotiator for this special discount?

5. Who is this man, Datuk Azeeeeeeeee z?

The Minister of Wilayah Persekutuan and Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur must provide answers to the above questions.

Letter & Opinion From Joe Public

Teresa Kok is S'gor DAP chief

By Teoh El Sen

PETALING JAYA: Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has been elected Selangor DAP chief after the 15 newly elected state DAP committee members cast their votes.

Previous chairman Ean Yong Hian Wah had relinquished his post and was now secretary for the 2010- 2012 term

Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua retained his position as deputy chief while Selangor Speaker Teng Chang Khim became vice-chairman together with Klang MP Charles Santiago.

Other positions are: asstistant secretary (Ng Suee Lim), treasurer (Hannah Yeoh), organising secretary (Lau Weng San), assistant organising secretary (Teo Nie Ching), publicity secretary (Jenice Lee), her assistant (Lim Soon Hong), political education director (Tiew Way Keng), state committee members: Gobind Singh Deo, S Ramakrishnan and T Kannan.

Speaking to reporters later, Kok said her biggest task now was to prepare the party for the next general election.

"We have a lot of opportunity to work together now and build a stronger team," she said.

Meanwhile, Pua said that the result showed that there were only four new state committee members.

"The other 11 are existing committee members, this shows that it was not a revamp or overhaul but a fine-tuning of an already effective team," he added.

Rainbow Coalition's stand accepted

Teng, who got seven against eight votes to be Selangor chairman, said his position now was not important but what was apparent was that the "Rainbow Coalition's" stand had been widely accepted by delegates.

"Now we wish to expand the idea nationwide. Today we have shown that everyone has a place in the party and this is something new in the party's history," said the leader of the "grassroots rebellion" against Kok's mainstream "Unity Team".

Teng said he did not feel defeated in this election as he garnered the fourth highest number of votes.

"What's good is that it is not a winner takes all situation. When we talk about rainbow, we have to accept the colours that you like and those you don't like. Now we have to close ranks and make full use of each leader," he said.

Asked about his stand on the the sacking of Tee Boon Hock, who was one of the central figures in his campaign, Teng said that Tee made a mistake but the manner his case was dealt with "raised questions."

On state exco Ronnie Liu's poor ranking at 21, Teng said: "No comment is required, it is so clear. (Party supremo) Lim Kit Siang himself said this morning that government leaders must have the mandate of the party. We can only obediently follow what he said."

Earlier, Kok's "Unity Team" won seven seats and the "Rainbow Coalition" got five while three candidates who are said to be neutral - Charles Santiago, Hannah Yeoh, and Jenice Lee - got the highest votes.

An unprecendented 800 over delegates voted for the 43 candidates contesting the 15 committee member posts. Five other appointed posts would be decided during the state committee's subsequent meeting.

'Ideal for stability'

Speaking to FMT, UCSI lecturer and political analyst Ong Kian Ming, who was present at the election, said that the result was the most ideal for stability of the party.

"The result that the Unity Team won is not unexpected, one of the reasons being that more people will know the MPs and state reps on the list.

“It is also not surprising that Teng's team could not get their clean sweep as their line-up was just not good enough, they are mostly disgruntled members without a common vision,” he said.

Ong said the fact that Liu was no longer in the committee showed the maturity of the voters to reject someone who was considered more of a liability rather than an asset.

"For Selangor DAP, this result is good as it is both united and gives an opportunity for dissent. It is ideal, balanced and in the political perspective, the most stable for the party," he said.

PKR's new line-up unveiled

Following a tumultuous and accusation-riddled party election, PKR today unveiled its new list of top office bearers.

Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was returned as president unopposed, drawing a thunderous applause from over the 1,200 delegates who attended the party congress.

Her husband and PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim's protege, Azmin Ali, was named as the new deputy president, replacing Syed Husin Ali who had relinquished the post.

Azmin, who was also greeted with a resounding applause from those present, must now embark on the task of closing ranks.

His ascencion to the number two slot had been marred by allegations of electoral fraud, which the Gombak MP had denied.

As for the vice presidency race, Anwar's daughter Nurul Izzah won the contest with the highest number of votes and received an outstanding oveation from the delegates.

Her influential presence at the party congress was acknowledged by the party's permanent chaiman Hishamuddin Ismail, who referred to her as Puteri Reformasi.

Mustaffa backs new No 2 Azmin

By Rahmah Ghazali

PETALING JAYA: Defeated emissary presdential candidate Musfaffa Kamil Ayub today pledged his support for PKR's brand new number dual Azmin Ali.

Previously, Mustaffa hold the joint press discussion with an additional emissary presidential candidate as well as fixed Azmin critic, Zaid Ibrahim, to malign the celebration polls, which was purported to be riddled with irregularities.

In his widing-up debate at the PKR association here, he said: Yes, we was there with him (Zaid), though we was merely calling for alleviation to the polls. we never pronounced things opposite Azmin as well as (party supremo) Anwar (Ibrahim).

I was just conveying the grassroots concern so which the celebration will address these problems, he added.

Mustaffa also pronounced which it was normal to recommendation the celebration leadership.

I was just giving my recommendation to the celebration leaders because PKR is not about glorifying them. It should be open to criticism. This is the brand new character of celebration which we want.

Even when we was using for emissary president, we told everybody which Azmin is the good candidate, as well as so was Zaid, he said.

Mustaffa, who is still the Perak PKR chief, perceived the station acclaim from the crowd, with most shouting Hidup Mustaffa (Long live Mustaffa).

He afterwards walked over to Azmin as well as raised the latter's hand.

'Don't be the busybody'

Meanwhile, newly-elected PKR women's arch Zuraida Kamaruddin shielded her idea to formalise the in front of of Anwar as the de facto leader.

She pronounced all the detractors who criticised this move shouldnt be the smart aleck because the celebration does not belong them.

That was only the suggestion, though because have been they being so busybody? Whose celebration is this! ? Whose celebration is this? she asked in her speech, as well as the crowd responded, This is the party!.

Zuraida had pronounced which the in front of should be formalised as well as be placed above which of celebration boss Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in order to recognize Anwars role as well as change in the party.

Several quarters, including Zaid, had criticsed the in front of of the de facto leader, observant which it was not recognised by the celebration constitution.

Youth arch Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin referred to which former emissary boss Syed Husin Ali be done the reformist idol to recognize his sacrifices.

He disbanded his party, Parti Rakyat Malaysia in order to set up Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

And we should show the high regard by making him the reformist idol as well as we goal the celebration will authorize my suggestion, he said.

A matter of ethics

We have become the monsters just like the monsters we wish to remove. Do we really want to remove the devil we know with a devil we dont know? I would take the risk of removing the devil we know with an angel we dont know. But if it is to remove a devil we know with a devil we dont know then better we keep the devil we know.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Murder when committed in the name of the cause is no longer murder. You can justify murder as long as you hide behind the cause when committing it. Would the innocent victims of May 13 be considered murdered by those who participated in the 1969 race riots when what they were merely doing was to defend their race?

Those on both sides of the Hutu-Tutsi conflict did not feel like they were murdering their long-time friends and neighbours even though hundreds of thousands of people were killed. Neither were those killed in Bosnia and Herzegovina considered murdered. Is it not called the Bosnian War or the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina rather than the Bosnian Murder?

Anything is justified when it comes to the cause. Even murder is halal or kosher. And to make sure no one gets upset it will never be called murder. It will be called anything but murder.

I suppose when you call it something other than murder it gives you peace of mind. By calling it murder it makes you feel like you are doing something wrong. But by not calling it murder you feel that whatever you are doing is in the bigger interest of a noble cause.

That is how humankind always fools itself. You label it any old how just so that wrong becomes right. With the right label, wrong can become right with the stroke of a pen.

I have been monitoring the comments and opinions in Malaysia Today. You may have also read them but you probably did not stop to give them a second thought. Of l! ate word s like responsibility, transparency, accountability, good governance, justice, fair play, and so on, are absent from the comments. The one and only focus is ABU -- Anything But Umno or Asal Bukan Umno.

Have our priorities changed that much? What are we trying to achieve here? I thought we are trying to bring about change to Malaysia. If that is still our priority then surely change has to mean something different, in particular something better.

As the Muslims would say: to cleanse yourself before prayer you need to use pure water. You cant use dirty water to cleanse yourself and then consider yourself clean enough to pray. How can you dip your hands into a septic tank or sewer and wipe your face with them and declare that you are now clean enough to face God?

Islam is very particular about what constitutes clean or pure and what is considered not clean. You cant rub contaminated water on your face and say that your face is now properly washed. Clean must be clean and there are no two ways about it.

The same goes for the fight for change. Can we oppose evil with evil and say that we are doing Gods work? Can I rob banks to raise money to build mosques? If my motive for robbing banks is to seek money to build mosques then surely my act of robbing banks is a noble act. By these standards robbery is not robbery when done in the service of God even though innocent people have to die during the robbery.

Many Malaysia Today readers no longer care about moral and ethics. It is all about kicking out Umno and Barisan Nasional. The method is not important. The honesty and integrity of the opposition leaders is not important. Never mind whether it is a black cat or a white cat just as long as it catches the mouse. Never mind if we allow the boss to have sex with our wives and daughters just as long as we get rich. The method we use to get rich is not crucial. What is important is that we get rich.

We have become the monsters just like the monsters we wish to remove. Do we really w! ant to r emove the devil we know with a devil we dont know? I would take the risk of removing the devil we know with an angel we dont know. But if it is to remove a devil we know with a devil we dont know then better we keep the devil we know.

Letter & Opinion From Joe Public

Ohhh Azizah… — Awang Selamat

Setelah agak lama menyepi diri terutama ketika PKR dilanda kekalutan, akhirnya Presiden PKR, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail bersuara.

Apabila bercakap tentang diperdaya, sedarkah Wan Azizah, ramai ahli PKR merasakan mereka menjadi mangsa muslihat Anwar demi kepentingan peribadi.

— Mingguan Malaysia

Azizah rallies party faithful, trashes 'ketuanan Melayu'

PKR CONGRESS 'Ketuanan Melayu' should be abandoned, said Wan Azizah in her speech.

'Ketuanan Melayu' (Malay supremacy) should be abandoned, said PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in her opening speech at the party congress in Petaling Jaya today.

“The concept of Malay supremacy must be left behind so that our children will grow up with the vision of a dignified race.

pkr congress 271110 wan azizah“Malay supremacy is a slogan used by a small group of Malay elites who are cheating the Malays as a whole for their own interests,” she told the 1,600 party delegates at the PJ Civic Centre.

Quoting a traditional Malay 'pantun', she pointed that dignity has long been valued in Malay tradition, but this has been left to the wayside by Umno.

“After 53 years in power, the Malays and bumiputera are still neglected... The 30 percent Malay-bumiputera equity has yet to be met. Of the RM54 billion equity and shares for bumiputera, only RM2 billion still belong to them,” she lamented.

Worse still, she said, in Batu Sapi a bumiputera labourer is only paid RM9.50 a day. According to her, every four families with household incomes under RM2,000, three are Malay.

“All this proves that Umno leaders do not defend Malays (but) are only interested to protect the interest of a few,” she said.

pkr congress 271110 crowdThe PKR president added that the emphasis on the survival of the Malays and Islam has been used as a strategy by Umno against Pakatan Rakyat to “confuse, worry and cause anxiety” among the multiracial Malaysian society.

Instead, she said, Pakatan and PKR urge Muslims to adhere to the true teachings of Islam, that teaches “fairness, moderation and respect for other races and religion.”

Malay issues interestingly make up a significant portion of the speech of the president of the party that lauds itself as being a true multiracial party.

Malays make up 50 percent of the party membership, followed by Indians at 23 percent, Chinese at 12 percent, while other bumiputera make up the remainder 15 percent.

Party polls a lesson in democracy
Meanwhile, Wan Azizah also reiterated her call for all grouses against the party be resolved through internal channels.

"Don't put our necks on the chopping board of the enemy media by exposing our weaknesses," she said.

pkr congress 271110 anwarDefending the party polls, she said that that it was a lesson in democracy for the membership.

Quoting Robert H Schuller, she said, "Better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing perfectly."

Among the top party leaders listening to Wan Azizah was husband Anwar Ibrahim, who is PKR de facto leader.

Wan Azizah urged the PKR faithful to continue to back Anwar, whom she said is a "great man who has been awarded by God to all of us to be our leader".

"Any ordinary person would have already backed down and slipped through the cracks in between the challenges and tumultuous times," she said.

Kemaruk politik Umno — Khalid Samad

Jangan buat macam kerajaan BN.
